Zeta’s are pantsformers. So it’s not the same setup at all. I love those figures but it simplifies the engineering greatly when the pants/torso are one non-transforming piece.

 

You're doing it wrong.

You shouldn't apply logic and reason to a situation. You should tell everyone you're rage quitting and how bad xtb are and that they'll regret losing you as a customer......

 

The Zeta combiners use ratchets, and in particular the outwards hip ratchets on my Superion are really strong. As it was said, the waist section on those figures is a separate non transforming part, so that certainly helps when designing the joints.
Only time will tell if the joints in Monolith are up to the task...but if they end up causing stability problems and it turns out that they didn't use ratchets due to the base mode, fans are not going to be happy.

Huh, what are you talking about? FT's Stunticons are all pretty much double the price of XTB's, and they haven't even announced their Menasor torso yet.

 

X-transbots were cheaper. Prices now are fans toys level now plus the trailer makes fans toys cheaper over all unless they also go nuts and up prices to the sky.

 

Where is this true? XTB's cars were $70-80. FT's cars were $130-140. XTB Motormaster was $130, FT's was $210.

With accessory pack, XTB's set totals in at ~$750 (at the high end. You can trim off around $100 from that if you go with ShowZ's trailer/accessory pricing, and assume the old Early Bird pricing for Breakdown).

High end, that's $770 for the FT set, and that doesn't include the yet-to-be-announced Menasor torso. I'd expect that to come in at least $200 as well.

Just thinking, but maybe x-transbots came up with something better than/equally effective to ratchets in those hips joints?
Maybe a spring loaded friction joint (like a clutch)? They seem very smooth, while being very tight at the same time.
Anyways I think that friction joints are still better than exploding ratchets, like on toyworld/zeta combiners.

 

Exploding ratchets come to my mind as well. Also run the risk of misaligned clicks leading to a hunched posture.

we are paying good money for this, and I really hope xtb get this right with the friction joints on the hips and knees. I noticed from the video review that the knees are not ratcheted

 

The trailer is pretty disappointing. Glad I didn’t get xtb set but I do feel bad for all of you that did and waited so long to get this only for it to be so meh.

Yep, XTB Menasor looks way better, imo. I’m happy for those that like DX9’s but their Menasor combined with their Motormaster make me very glad I did not get into their Stunticon set. Their MM is by far the worst of the 3, again imo. The car-bots aren’t bad although I’m not keen on the scale both DX9 and FT chose with their car-bot bot modes. The only thing I am slightly jealous of from DX9 is Menasor’s sword, it looks great in the silver. I might have to paint XTB Menasor’s sword.
