It would have been great if the accessories pack were just the bits to complete the combined mode without having to purchase the trailer.

 

How would that work? The trailer is the combiner body. The accessories just help the combiner achieve those wonky show-accurate scaling inconsistencies (where the arm 'bots wind up twice the size of the leg 'bots).

 

I'm waaaay too lazy to read back in the thread but my question is, if people buy just the trailer and skip the accessory pack, will he still combine?

In short, is the accessory pack necessary? Also, what are the arm car parts for?

No, you can still combine. However, the combiner looks much better with the car parts, as it fixes the proportions, making the arms look bulkier and more integrated than just cars on arms.

 

You can still combine with just the trailer + 5 bots. The cartoon Menasor face comes in the kit though.

The arm car shells in the kit, make the arm cars (Dragstrip + Deadend) look bigger/oversized in comparison to the legs as depicted in some scenes from the G1 toon.

 

ShowZ's price is definitely easier to swallow (still too high but it's whatever at this point). Not sure if I'm willing to wait for two months shipping to save $30 though. If I were in for the accessory pack, though, I'd definitely get it from them - even with the extra $4 shipping, it'll still be cheaper than US sellers, especially since you'll have to add shipping to buy it in the US as well.

 

I think the top part of the chest is also shorter top to bottom.

 

Not sure if that's always automatically true, but on menasor, where the trailer is already a problem, yeah, it's a good idea.

However, it does make the torso more expensive, potentially less stable, and has quite likely contributed to delays. It seems pretty clear to me that neither XTB nor FT planned to do it that way in the beginning. Especially FT whose motormaster already includes a trailer.

 

Well, these don't seem to apply to DX9's trailer -- except it's super long.

 

Yeah the Showz price is definitely better. Glad that’s where my preorder is. 193.00 US for the trailer and 64 US for the accessories. It’s not what I wanted to pay but it’s a little better.

 

Does it still take 2 months to reach US? I'm in Canada, it's about 1 month for me after ShowZ started to offer free shipping again.

 

If it arrives by air, it was about three weeks. If by sea, it's almost three months. At least that has been my experience this year with showz.

Well my most recent shipment from them went out on 10/28 and is still in status "The airline receives it" as of 11/12. I recently received another item of similar size from them on 11/23 that had shipped out on 9/17.

 

have been waiting since Oct. 30th for a package that says "airlines start shipping" and that was beck on Nov. 28th. emailed Baba about it and he said shipping is all screwed up over there right now. This package is held up in Zhengzhou City
my TF Direct package has been held up in Guangzhou City since 12/2.
Robot Kingdom has been stuck in Hong Kong since 12/8
and Uncle Billy package has the most recent movement in Yanwen of 12/14.
So, if you have or are going to order anything from China, be ready for a long wait. I'm hoping I will see them delivered before CNY.

 

Maybe related to so many oversea shipping to US, more congested than Canadian ports?

 

It's always bad this time of year and Covid made things bad. Put 'em together and it's insane. Luckily the one I'm waiting for isn't something I'm champing at the bit for. I don't think I can do the two month wait for Menasor, though.

 

Do you still need the arm bots, or do the shells replace them?
