I've owned both at the same time. I actually bought Saltus with the intention of replacing Apache. I like them both. A lot. Ended up selling Saltus. Apache just edged him out for me.

 

Where is Gravestone's waist rotation in the combined mode attempts? Could it be applied with a 180 degree turn maybe? That is the thought that came to mind looking at your attempts.

I have both still, I feel like Saltus looks too "soft" around the edges. I can't describe it properly, that is the best word for it I came up with, you will either see it or not unfortunately. It's kind of like watching an HD TV (Apache) and an old standard TV (Saltus).

 

These two pics show where the waist rotation is and how it would look rotated 180 degrees. There's definitely got to be a better positioning or further transformation required for the cab section.

 

Oh the crotch does split! I thought that from the pics, but when I tried I felt like I was going to break it. Was to scared to force it. I'll take a stab at it again. Thanks!

Take a look at the DX9’s Attila... Capone’s trailer -> frame. It looks to be very similar.

Lol, I was waiting for someone to say that. I was thinking the same thing as I typed it.

 

If XTB were smart, they would have separate car shells to plug into the trailer.

I like the bot modes by themselves, and would like to be able to display both.

I'll probably end up buying a 3D printer and learn how to make them myself.

Anyways, hope everything is ok in KFC/XTB land. I think this has been a bad year for personnel over there, and we must continue to be patient.

Can the front half of the cab split apart from the back (kind of like the G1 Prime), and fold up under, laying flat underneath?

The simple answer is: No.

I would think, if XTB were smart, they wouldn’t include any car shells, so that you buy a second set of figures to display in both modes...

 

How many people would rather buy a combiner trailer, and some car shells to go with it? I'd imagine a lot of folks would go for it. But, that's just my opinion.

 

"If XTB were smart", they would have finished at least one of their three Stunticon sets months ago.

 

I'd go for that then pose the robot separately. Be good to have options.

 

I'm not doing any of the stunticon releases now. I think my collection is complete. Plus I don't like having an unfinished "project" sitting around hopefully waiting for the last piece to come out. I started to get the feeling X-TB won't be finishing this. Flipout was a surprise sale. Wasn't expecting what it sold for. Still have the other 2 up for sale.

 

$190 for Flipout is insane. It is not worth that much. A reissue will hit eventually. I declined buying the Fanstoys Spoiler on ebay for over 200 and it got reissued the following week.

 

I sold mine (Flipout) for 45 bucks, and I am still flipping out over it.
