Optimus Prime stole it.
I know this post was meant as satire, but I've actually gone ahead and highlighted the scenarios that are probably VERY close to the real reason.
Ironically the latter one could have been avoided with a more sensible price point that would've shifted loads more units (ultimately more profitable).
Hell, my final tally for the ER Quint Pit, 2x ER Quints, 2x Allicons, and then the Legends - 2x MFT Sharkies, Kup and Hot Rod plus Dinobots has set me back a fair bit. I'll end up with a great looking movie scene homage alongside HasLab Unicron but I'd just as easily have got a 3 pack of the Egg for $300 and been happy.
Maybe the real trailer was the friends we made along the way.
This deserves way more than a thumbs up.
Made my day
XTB put the Egg first rather than the trailer because they thought its gonna do well until they reveal the ridiculous price they had for it
I don't understand why they didn't make a cheaper basic version without any of the gimmicks and a limited edition version that lights up and does all the other stuff I don't care about and will never use.
Cause no one would buy the "limited" edition and they could not charge us $70 for basic electronics. I honeslty think they screwed up so much on some design elements on this or other figures they are trying to recoup the cost here. They are the only MP Quint game in town. Maybe they thought they could use that for a price advantage. Not sure they factored in the hasbro variant or how unimportant quints are to a lot of people.
100% profit of zero units sold is zero dollars. They don't make $70 off of basic electronics if I pass on buying the figure entirely. Without the expensive gimmick, I may have purchased three or more of these and now I'm buying zero of them.
don't think consumers will pay that much for something that doesn't transform.
Woah, that's actually pretty philosophical...
How about 3?
This one should have been in blue
You mean like those collectible statues and dolls (action figures)?
Lol. Yeah last time I checked Hot Toys Iron Man doesn't transform.
*pets ThreeZero Prime*
i know you're joking but perhaps the real reason is because once those combined mode photos go up, people will again SCREAM for a preorder - and i can surmise they aren't ready for that yet. perhaps it "Works" but still needs a little massaging here and there and nobody wants to be bothered with responding to more backlash hen they are trying to fix the actual problems. all i know is that once its out, it better be solid. combines and looks great, no weak joints -because lord know they've had time to get this right! how long ago were the grey proto samples? that benig said, i do have faith it will come out - just don't have faith it'll be out imminently. that said i think they'll beat GT's hotspot to release.
What annoys me the most is being 100% sure that the next post on X-transbots' FB page will NOT be about the trailer
^^This is the TFW2005 2020 Post of the Year
I'll take the assist
If it turns out to be any less solid than the TW and Zeta combiners XTB are going to have an extremely hard time trying to convince people into their next combiner foray. Let us not forget MMC have just put out a great product in their Bruticus. They even went to the effort and extra capacity to include replacement parts for reportedly weak shoulder joints - that was a seriously f&*#ing cool thing to have done in terms of customer service. XTB take note.
