Well I guess I'm grateful for what we got. Technically it's still July and they delivered a picture. But wasn't the promise that we'd have the pre-order as well? Any word on that?

Pic looks good. I like the molded details, especially the little diamond shaped hazard signs on the back. Not sure what the fan looking things on top are but I like how they look. Now show us the combined mode and.... there's still optimizations? That means they're still working on it? Still?! Is it really that difficult? And, if so, how do the other companies manage it?

From that response, sounds like they got a final sample and it wasn’t up to snuff. Give em time to make refinements, the figure will be better for it.

There are actually two hinges and you are correct about the wheels being too far back. I think they did that because the hinge you mention is to place the wheels in a position to be hidden in bot and base mode. The wheels also hinge up into the wheel cavity. It appears from the transformation that the legs are at the front of the trailer and will telescope or combiner wars out. The back of the trailer appears to be the top of Menasor because of the complexity. Also remember this is a triple changer with the base mode. Its good to finally see a test shot. Now get out the final product and it better be good. My guess is they are going over tolerances before shipping. Who knows how damn long they will take for now but they should put up the preorder to resolve this damn mess and the same with Dr Egg and Locke that we were promised. I still have the old Virtus preorder at TCP.

Well, that is a surprise. Didn't expect to find a pic of the trailer in here today. As someone else stated, better than nothing.

Not sure but here is the base mode render. It appears the front trailer outer skin sections fold back on the back of the trailer and the sections you are referring to make the ramps.

I'm not jealous of the designer of this thing. They are expected to:
    A) Make it hollow enough to hold a car (with a working ramp)
    B) Make it not "too big" like DX9's trailer
    C) Make the combiner "grow" to be Constructor height, but only with Autobot-car-sized limbs
    D) Make it solid enough that the combiner holds a pose and doesn't crumble under its own weight
    E) Make it limber enough that it can pose like a MakeToys figure
    F) Make the alt mode hyper-accurate, down to having the right bars in the right places
    G) Make Sunbow sticklers, Toy Aesthetic fans, and G2 fans happy with a minimum of new/replacement parts
    H) Have a base mode that doesn't suck
    and...
    I) Keep it under $100 somehow

Well with this and the Locke package pic, it's nice to know XTB is finally moving along again, sort of.

Now if we could see pics & preorders of toy Wildrider and G2 Motormaster, along with more of the trailer, I'll be quite happy.

Agreed, I think it was too low and too much trouble with interference in combined mode looking at what they have going on. I think the placement of the wheels were in the way and they have a small bar there too high but maybe as the stand in. Definitely compromises in the back for combined mode.

The weibo post is actually headed up to that effect... the auto Google translate function when I access it says: The carriage will continue to be updated. Megatron will be rescued soon!

Yeah, pretty brutal. I wish they would cut the base mode. I also don't really care about it holding a car.

Well its a trailer. Not bad.

I want to see Menasaur and it's size.

    So we still need:

    G1 Toon Trailer
    G1 Toy Wildrider
    G1 Toy Motormaster
    G1 Toy Trailer
    G2 Motormaster
    G2 Trailer

    SO many!!!!

Lol after all that they only took one picture...

And they still need to work on it? AFTER taking their single promotional picture?

PictureS. Plus they promised preorders/prices also. Ditto for the Quintesson which they're seemingly still deciding the colours for. I'm being harsh on them but I don't think a solitary picture of the trailer is meeting the expectations they said they would.

I think we need to accept now there's no way on earth this will be under $100. For the size and engineering involved, plus the increased prices they're charging for all the reissues they're doing. I'll be glad if it is below 100 but I really can't see it.

Definitely agree on both points. All I want from this is a box on wheels that becomes Menasors body. Holding cars and having a base mode just seems to be overly complicating it.

Y'all are adorable thinking this will be under $100. I would be shocked if it ends up being under $150.

    LoL.

    I) will not happen. Also it's not as long as DX9's but it's TALLER.

And in the end they will sacrifice a bunch of things in your wish list.

I expect 'base mode' is pretty much just the trailer panels opened out partially. Seems to be the panels that make up the torso and arms. I'd be surprised if there's much, if any, actual joints/engineering added just for the base mode.

I do worry a little about the fragility of this piece just from the picture it looks like quite a thin bit of plastic connecting it:

A positive note is they took on board feedback about adding a flat surface for a Decepticon logo compared to the renders. Hopefully they've done the same with the bot mode chest and covered that area too:
