This *looks* great but I don't have a lot of faith in XTB's QC. Definitely a "wait for review" one, but if it's half as good as it looks, it could....well, not replace my Sovereign, because that was one of my first 3P toys and I love it, but definitely supplement it.

Please @ibot , go back and give those hands a second look. Based on the renders, gray prototype pics (ShowZ posted) and the painted proto, the finger articulation seems very limited. May have been acceptable when this bot was first announced, but not up to today's standards for a bot this size.

I'm really excited for this guy!

Some close ups I guess. Blurry. Not sure if that’s the phone or the site. The side by side with sovereign doesn’t do it any favours imo.

Well you'll be saving money then. Depends if you want idealised heroic proportions or screen accuracy I guess.

Hopefully those fingers get some updates with more articulation in them, and a better grey color, but man this looks good. I will definitely be displaying this in my case, for sure.

This has animation proportions liked it just walked out of the show, but it sure does need some finishing touches. It looks like a panelling transform nightmare. I'm hoping they are going to properly paint it too.

For people going on about paint: it's obvious that this is a partially painted 3D print, not a production prototype. With the way XTB have been painting lately, you can bet the final product is gonna be painted to the nines.

True, but for a while XTB, wasn't really into fully painting their figures, just coloured plastic. Even so that now they a re-releasing many of their MPs with a full paint job, so this is why there is concern. However I think it was a cost saving fad at the time, so we'll see what goes down.

100% agree. Based on the pricing of this guy (~$200 USD), I think we're pretty safe to assume paint up the wazoo. Look at Virtus, in the same price bracket.

So the bot fold in on itself to transform huh? Clever. The arms swing forward, the head swings forward so they're now inside and the outside of the alt mode is revealed. You basically turn him inside out. That is really, really clever. If the QC is as good as their Scourge I'll be in for this.

Can’t get over how much I love that his struts in alt mode either aren’t his arms, or they completely reshape during transformation. Like, I get it, that’s how the original figure did it, but very glad we’re doing something else now.

100%. The exposed arms on Sovereign’s alt mode just about killed that mode for me. This looks like a vast improvement over every previous MP-scale Galvy on every level IMO.

I shot XTB a message on FB about Abaddon’s release date, got this response…

If I had to guess, I'd say springtime at the earliest. The prototype they showed at TFCon was still a 3D print.

Was it? Unlike most of the bots in that display I didn't see any print lines. I could absolutely be wrong but Galvy looked more like an early test sample to me.

It looked off because it was hand painted but you are correct it was not 3D printed. Definitely a test sample from what I saw. From what has been discussed it looks like Commander Stack comes out this month, followed by Le Poulpe around the end of the year prior to CNY. I could see this coming out March/April next year.

There were definitely some loose tolerances and gaps (look at the knees from the side), and I thought I saw some print lines. @Grifter Prime @ibot -- was this a 3D print or a test shot?
