There is a new Eligos release coming but just like the recent Andras release, it will have a new "toon" repaint according to the retailers that have it up for preorder. I'm not sure there are any pics of how this repainted toon ELigos looks just yet. Sellers are still using the old Eligos pics in their listings.

 

For what I'm searching Eligos is a better choice than Quietus,XTB face is OK because is similar to some s3 episodes, where memories that make me appreciate him reside, and is going to be re released, however I don't like that nosecone is in metal because I fear that could harm me during transformation or playing,true maybe I'm exaggerated but,for me, I wanto to buy a safe figure considering how is expensive and for this probably I'll go just with Andras.

 

The only criticism of Quietus was the first runs issue of the knees scraping the chest, but Eligos has a similar concern where the knees go over the painted part of his abdomen in vehicle mode and if not done correctly can scratch that paint (happened to mine), so I wouldn’t consider it safer. Add to that the tabs for the front of the alt mode don’t fit (one of mine broke trying to get it in), terrible XTB fingers with risk of the thumbs breaking going in and out of alt mode and you have a much more flawed figure in Eligos.

If they actually paint this in toon coloring with actual paint on the face, I may have to try and sell my V1.

 

If the colors on the reissue are nice, and by nice I mean present well but also are more show accurate than scourge's, I will buy this. There are things that I always liked better about x-transbots version than fanstoys version and I have room in my collection for both

Nice, tho now they have an excuse to pointlessly raise the price by 50%.

 

Looks promising. Really hoping they go the extra mile with this guy, and not just whack a coat of paint on it and call it a day.

 

New heads and faces are nice... But I only care about improved hardware... Fix the knees and the shoulder ratchets, improve the locking tabs at the cockpit section.

Bigger wings would be nice too!

 

I was struggling to figure out what the deal is with this face and why it's a bit more gaunt compared to the other cartoon faces:
I think it could be referencing his older character model that Akom sometimes used in the show:

Yeah fingers crossed this toon version actually has toon accurate colours unlike Andras. I've got Quietus but if this turns out nice I think I can make room for two Cyclonus...es? Cycloni? One can take turns being his "armada" I guess.

If they can get the colours right (like the model above), along with the new faces then I'm definitely interested. Optimistic also but I wouldn't mind if they went a bit further and redid his calves as well as they look HUGE on the original release.

 

The sculpt work on the new faces is excellent as per usual. But I need to see the final colors and price before I get too excited. I passed on this guy's initial release, but I could be swayed if XTB nails the finish and improves on any problem areas.

 

I'm hoping the repaint is more stylized like the Andras reissue. I just got my Andras in the mail tonight and he looks absolutely gorgeous. Keeping my fingers crossed that they spruce up Eligos to match him.

 

Those are great looking faces. I would like Cyclonus to be huge in bot mode like he was in the '86 animated movie.

 

The most important thing is the tabs and cockpit not breaking when he goes into jet mode. It doesn't matter if the paint is nice if the toy is still destined to break. The ONLY reason mine isn't broken is because I never even tried to peg those parts in.

 

And of course it won't be possible for v1 owners to purchase the new head alone....

 

The Marvel UK comics had him with quite a quite a gaunt face as well. Maybe it's a nod towards that as well.

I'm hoping there'll somehow be a way to get hold of them.

 

Is there anything like an ETA on the reissue? I haven't seen anything remotely concrete and I just wonder if it's a long game or something more imminent.

I think I've preferred XTB's to FT except the face sculpt on Quietus is amazing. It's always put me off the Eligos figure, but I reckon these new ones might pull me in...

 

It's perfectly possible to transform him and not break him - it's just a soul-destroying pain-in-the-arse of a process.

 

Nope, nothing concrete. ShowZ has late January down but I'm guessing that's just a placeholder. I'm sure the official response would be "soon"
