I really need to paint the eyes on the spare head XTB sent me. I'm just being tight as I don't want to buy an entire tin of the wrong stuff for such a tiny job!

 

I used Tamiya X-7 Red. It's got a nice gloss glow to it. How long did it take for the spare head to arrive?

 

It took a while as my retailer got it and a bunch of other Andras parts from XTB (seemed like about a third of the entire figure, haha), but held onto them until my next order shipped to save on postage. Actually they forgot to send them with my next order, so it was the order after that before I got my hands on them...

 

I used a red sharpie marker.

 

I considered something similar, but wasn't sure it would be hard wearing or bright enough.

I've been using a red foil that's meant for laser printer transfer. It has a sheet of plastic over it so, if I can get it installed, it's protected from the outside. The problem with it is, since it's meant to come off that plastic (heat transfer into laser printed toner) the inside damages really easily. I get around this by putting a thin layer of future on the inside and letting it dry before I install it but it's still pretty delicate. I have it in red for deceps and blue for bots.

 

Mine looks just fine.

 

can the eyes separate from the face? i usually just use a paint marker.

Thinking of selling him. Somehow he doesn't gel well with the FT figures.

 

Cant say for sure. I have used the foil from the small chocolates ou buy from candy shops and installed it on the inside of the head of a Tarn figure (cant remember the name, its the one without paint apps for the eyes). Inserted the foil behind the mask and now it looks like ITs paintjob on Megatrons eyes.

So I just got him from Baba. Was listed as a new reprint. The seal on the bottom of the box was opened and two of the pointy things (the removable point in the back of his head and the other two things on his ship mode) were rattling around inside him but they installed just fine and there doesn't seem to have been any scratching or anything. He came with batteries installed in all three lights which is weird but kind of a nice bonus since I was never going to do that. He's missing the Apollyon mace adapter but I don't care since it's a nonsensical feature and I gave away my Apollyon anyway. Everything else looks great with one exception: he's got a pretty bad paint defect on his nose.


Should I hit up baba or ibot for a replacement?
