I already have Fans Toys original Perceptor, the Microbots included in this one pushed me over the edge to get it mainly for them and a more cartoon accurate face.

I'm thinking of buying the XTransbots Springer and Ultra Magnus because of the "Only Human" figures that come with them that I want, and don't really want the main figures in those because I already have them.

You have more money than sense son. Just paint some old G.I Joe or something.

I might do that, GI Joe figures are too big though, maybe I can find a smaller farmer figure to paint so they have the overalls and I won't need to re-sculpt anything.

why not just contact XTB support after release? They're good about replacement parts, would they be totally unwilling to sell you the minifigs?

So who's going to be the guinea pig and grabbing this "v1".....I've learned to take the wait approach with XTB. They tend to take at least a v2 to get things right!

I mean, they've had to release improved v2's for who, Ollie and locke? I would say that it isn't something that is common.

You don't get late tax with xtb. At best, your seller does a PO discount.

There were issues with the first Transistor, Citizen Stack (yes, I’m including KFC here), 2 of the stunticons…..just to name a few. I’ve been rocking with KFC since they were making add-ons for official figures. They’ve come a long way but still have the occasional hiccups.

Yes, but no V2 on those, just replacement parts as needed.

    Ooooo!!

    Tend?

I can count on two fingers how many legit v2's xtb has done and they were years apart.

Or do you mean rolling improvements? Because all companies tend to do that.

Check again my friend. I've lost count how many versions of Transistor there's been, at least 4 off my head. Citizen Stack needed a v2. The quintesson had issues. The 2 stunticons received replacement parts but honestly could've used a v2 as those replacement parts were just the same shit and prone to cracking again. v2's are suppose to improve on joint tolerances, paint finish and quality, some redesign of parts to improve function and vulnerability and just overall better fit and finish - basically how the figure should've been. All companies have their duds and I've pretty much owned a figure from almost all 3rd party, and I will say KFC/XTB still has the worst track record. It's like throwing darts. Not taking away their solid releases, but what other 3rd party company has had to do a v2 because their v1 was utter garbage? Fans Toys releases v2 of figures that are of complete redesign (a whole new figure). We're talking about an immediate v2 here to correct rubbish, not reissues that generally make small, usually unnoticeable, improvements, and come years after initial release. Again, not hating on XTB, and the figures definitely won't sell out so I'll wait for reviews. Kudos to those that are willing to chance it. XTB's last figure was Koot so many people still have that bitter taste in their mouth.

And none of those were 'v2'. All rolling improvements. Just like FT with new parts for Scoria, Soar and Sever for example or TE with Prime and Mirage. Or are they counted as new versions too?

Off the top of my head there's Ollie and Locke. Legit version 2s because the originals were that crappy.

Replacement parts are a whole other kettle of fish, which again, all companies do. Or should do at least.

Looks like this may beat fanstoys 2.0 Tesla to market. Eagerly awaiting reviews. I hope XTB does a good job on this one. If it's well made, and can take a chunk of fanstoys sales, maybe fanstoys will start rolling back their prices. Competition is good for the collecting community.
