No, I don't care if Fanstoys does it. I simply stated I understood what the other poster was saying/implying.

I EDITED FIRST POST FOR CLARITY.

I'll see if I can remember the problems I've had...

Grenadier - arrived with a peg broken off and missing, so that I couldn't even glue it back on. (FT said "no parts available".)

Quietus - arrived with two short but deep scratch marks one the front of one leg. (FT said "this is not new" and refused to help!)

Koot - the wrong size screw had been used on one of his shoulders, meaning the shoulder could move properly; the larger screw had chewed up the plastic and made it too big for the correct screw. (FT replaced the shoulder.)

Dracula - very loose bat ankles, can't stand up in alt mode.

Tesla v1 - the plastic just crumbled away by itself.

Maverick - screw head sheared off one of the chest screws on the first attempt at moving it (a common problem). (FT replaced the chest panel.)

Hydra - very loose knees and could barely stand up.

Soar - I got this second-hand, and fortunately it came with the metal knees (which FT provided because so many broke).

Lupus - I assume his mid-back piece is meant to stay up in alt mode? That would be nice. It just flops down into the body.

Magnum - had a big tuft/sprue of plastic on the side of his head, which was ugly and large enough that his head would fit in place inside in alt mode. (FT wouldn't replace it, so I had to trim it off myself, leaving a small scar.)

Dunerunner - one panel on the underside in alt mode doesn't close, and one of the front wheels is very loose and just flops forwards in alt mode, not even coming close to staying on the blue peg bit. (FT said the first is a common problem, and that I should glue the wheel in place!)

Sheridan - loose knee, paint chipping.

Thomas - screws on chest panels fell out after a couple of transformations. They really shouldn't have been screws.

Jabber - those flimsy blue bits holding the sides on broke on both sides, despite paaainfully slow and careful transforming (a very common problem).

Willis - okay, he was second-hand, but the previous owner said that the wheel arch was so flimsy it just snapped off straight away.

Forager - the clip on his wings is rubbish and broke easily, despite care (a very common problem).

Terminus Giganticus - knees were poor and I could only stand him straight up.

Acoustic Wave - Rumble's head seems stuck in alt-mode position. I can't move it.

    ...

Apart from that, FT have been great!

But don't worry, I have a list of XTB problems too...

    Locke v1 - rubbish

Locke v2 - three breakages. (XTB replaced the parts.)

    Ollie - a bit loose.

    Janssen - a bit loose.

I think that's it. About a one-in-two problem rate with FT, and about one-in-eight for XTB.

I don’t know if I should be impressed or appalled that you continually buy FT figures despite all those design/QC issues. Doesn’t that kind of make you an FT fanboy?

Got my nerdy James Bond robot from ShowZ. You can get some decent poses from him. Bad quality pic, but you get the idea. Haven't transformed him to microscope mode yet, and don't give a shit about "tank" mode. We'll see how that goes. So far, I'm pretty happy with him and am glad to deny Fanstoys their gouge money. I really like their products, but their prices used to be about the same as other 3rd part MP producers like DX9, Maketoys, X-Transbots, and then one day they tacked on $80 to $100 for bigger figures. Fuck'em. Too bad X-Transbots and Space Deformation/TE are their only competition anymore. 20220123_130545.jpg

That’s your problem because you are easily offended as that was not an attack of any sort that required a defense. I am stating that I can see why you do not care for FT products because you have received quite a few problems for the figures that you have purchased.

What is puzzling to me is why do you keep putting money into supporting a company that gives you inferior products? Would you not say that by continually purchasing their expensive figures, you are actually using your money to keep upvoting their incompetence? Would people here not classify such undying financial devotion as the actions of a fanboy?

And by choosing not to discuss the issue and instead stereotyping my words because of someone who liked them, does that not make you look exactly like the infantile ignoramus that you are trying to paint of me?

No problem though if you choose to ignore me and throw a tantrum. I just had an observation with a legitimate question.

    I did not know this
I also said they’re pricks because I imagine all successful companies are managed by pricks. There’s no exception to this rule. None.

No.. Take your filthy XTB talk to the Tesla thread where it belongs you heathen!

EDIT: more on topic i sure do wish someone could do a clear snap in piece for the chest, but I'm not sure if clear plastic is something that can be handled by community modders.

You listed 18 FT figures, where 12 have damage that was not remedied by the company but you kept on buying them and called it keeping an open mind? I guess you’ve never heard of the word “accountability”, especially when it comes to capitalism.

And when you continue to spent thousands of dollars for what you claim to be subpar products, that is the definition of “fanboy”. The reason people come up with those words is to explain those types of behavior quickly. I was just asking you about facts that you yourself listed.

You see here why your “testimonial” lacks credibility? If it bothers you to be questioned on the facts that you stated, maybe you should not be crying out loud.

Sorry buddy but your Karen-tantrum is in full effect here. Only thing missing is you asking to see the manager but I suspect you’ll do that privately anyway.

Maybe a 4th party kit to install a clear chest to replace it? If removing the chest isn't too difficult or risky.

Then, all of us who want to finish a MP collection that is cohesive with TT figures before we die, would be FT fanboys too. I've bought lots of FT figures knowing the issues I would have to deal with (and XTB's too, for sure) and keep doing it if I don't find a convenient alternative. You must go FT for dinos, insecticons, Blurr... and I have had issues in half of them. Would I wait for XTB (or whoever) to make their Astrotrain? Here I am with Thomas' stupid knee that bends forwards. If XTB gets their Blitzwing tweaked and well coloured before Berserk, I am done with FT. If not, I'll be getting Berserk, whatever the issues (unless they're Locke v1 level issues) and it would be their last figure I need, so I guess I'll stop being a fanboy then.

So I wasn't really in for this as I'm generally perfectly happy with Tesla. But this chap looks lovely in pictures. A quick browse of the thread, however, seems to suggest some breakage problems. What do folks think - are these normal 'one or two will always break and we'll always hear about them' problems, 'this thing is super delicate' problems or 'damn, XTB fucked it' problems? The whole legs coming apart at the thigh thing looks annoying as fuck too, right?

I've seen arms being pulled out of their sockets, like by a Wookiee losing at boardgames. But you shouldn't open the arms that way, although the instructions could be clearer about this. You should push them from the inside, not just pull on the arm. Unfortunately, pulling on the arms is tempting, as it's the "obvious" thing to do.

By the thigh thing, do you mean the horizontal gap that appears just below the hips? Yes, that's a bit annoying, but it only happens in hand. Once use close it up and put him into some position, it seems to be fine.

He's not perfect. There's no real need for the diecast, but that's true of most diecast figures. The hips on mine don't quite go to horizontal in microscope mode. But he's pretty good. I'm looking forward to getting Tesla v2 so that I can compare.
