Yes! I nearly choked on Ditka.

(I was just following comments that he went down easily.)

Yeah, this is a fine mess.
He will be kept in bot mode for a majority of his lifespan, but this predicament SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I've reached out to TCP, we'll see if they'll be able to do something about it.

This has me worried about their Gravestone, which is coming to my doorstep tomorrow...

Ah, then I'm a fool for this. Thanks for the heads up! They're tight so I figured they were stationary.

If you don't use the instructions how would you know what order not to do things in? How would you know what steps to omit because they magically do themselves?

Has anyone ordered MX-22 toon version from an overseas vendor to US and not received it yet? I went with Ohmyprimus this time bc of price and a good experience I had on something else. They're in communication with me, but don't expect to get stock until after CNY. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.

Fanstoys, MMC, Maketoys, Mastermade, hell I even have one Badcube and one KFC.
After messing with stack a bit more and having transformed him I’m concerned he will break somewhere. The plastic feels too thin. I know the common hip skirt crack has happened on one side already.

I feel like these issues could be solved simply by observing the figure and how it’s engineered. I used the instructions on my first transform through Stack and I actually think the manual did a really good job . It helped me catch steps I’ve noticed several others miss (like those angular panels on the front armatures of the trailer).

Usually 3p instructions are so bad they actually make it worse than help in any way possible...

I usually watch a video once a figure gets first released, that gives me a general idea.
I watch a lot of release videos, also from stuff i have no interest in, just to get an idea of the engineering of different companies

Like prime of shadows said, just observe how its made, where the hinges are and what you need to achieve.
If I'm doing stuff in the wrong order, i won't get to the end and i have to go back sometimes
If i get really stuck, or if i feel something might break if i go further in the way I'm going, I might refer back to a video.

Sometimes i miss stuff or features, but that's why i follow the threads of all the figures i own and i will find out eventually

For me, figuring it all out myself is part of the enjoyment and not a necessary evil to get from one mode to another.
I transform my stuff quite a lot, and it bakes it into my muscle memory. I can take any figure i own and transform it without any instructions.
Also quickly, if i hear some people that take an hour to transform a figure, like MM-01, it takes me maybe 10 minutes from memory

That's what i noticed when i opened up the box of transformers from my childhood, after 25+ years i could transform them easily and could even pick out all the different guns and accessories for each figure.

I’m the same way with my transforms. Everything is memorized. But I don’t trust myself to figure out something without using the instructions at least once because not every design is intuitive enough to avoid breaking. I use the manual once, then I have it down pat and I never need it again. But even then, I never need a video. I will say I enjoy Peolesdru on youtube, but that’s more for his skill and stop motion enjoyment. I don’t use his videos to actually transform something.

Welp, I can confirm that the tampos on the youth version of Stack do indeed suck. The ones on the chest are especially galling as I swear I have never put my grubby fingers on those. Maybe Toyhax will come up with replacement stickers.....seems like a natural fit.
Oh, and the sad part is the QC is better on this one than my toon version in every way. Arms are tight, everything locks in better, especially the cab parts.
    Oh well..... 20230115_123953.jpg 20230115_124208.jpg 20230115_124226.jpg

I don’t rotate a wrist without watching every transformation video at least once, taking notes and later creating a flow chart before I have the figure in hand. Then I pick the best video and watch it as I’m transforming.

If you don't manhandle it like BSF, there is not a whole lot to mess up.
Just explore carefully, like with a new girlfriend. Don't just shove fingers up there and twist the knobs off

Someone really needs to put Peaugh and Skullface in a timed transformation contest. Five transformers each, ten piles of broken plastic six hours later.
