I still love that mp ultra magnus though. I prefer the hands and buttflaplessness of the thf better. I wish they had a delta magnus ko. I might have gotten that!

    Update
    :
Here’s a V2 design for the missile blast effect I previously posted. After seeing the cartoon reference folks posted…I needed a bit more “convincing” looking blast effects :) . Its 3D printed - clear PLA filament.

Not a perfect match. But it's pretty close. Peel and stick vinyl. I will have them up on ebay this weekend for anyone interested.

Finally got my Stack today. Got to open it and mess with it a bit. Is there a trick to getting the waist/torso to lock in? The upper most section to be specific.

I have my MX-22 cartoon version. It's a very good figure, far better than XTB's Springer. After three years I can sell my TT Ultra Magnus. It looks outdated compared to other bots that have come out in the last three years.

Now I hope they do a similar good job on the Battlechargers and Omnibots.

Stack! I got him about a month ago but saved him until the new year, since Christmas was MMC Sky Lynx and that was enough excitement!

Beautiful bot mode. But not a pleasant transformation. I don't mind complicated transformations but this was fussy and fiddly, with so many little flaps and panels. There were problems.

The cab fell apart during transformation. It seems that each side rests on a tiny pin that can't really keep it on, and there's nothing to keep it held in place in mid-transformation.

    image5.jpeg

And sadly one of the horns on the cab is broken.

    image0.jpeg

His cab seems to have very limited rotation compared to the curved slots available, and that area comes untabbed very easily. Maybe I need to oil some things...

Anyway, he is definitely an excellent bot-mode G1-style Magnus!

    PS. Stack!

    Those look amazing!

I assume some transformation connections have come apart. That's covered at about 19:30 here:

Did you try following the above and below videos?

Wait, hang on. You can see the broken horn in this picture. I guess I must have broken it when the front parts came off and the whole thing fumbled in my hands. Bah.

    image5.jpeg

Update! I have found the problem. The screw that goes here was too short:

    xtb_stack_missing_screw.jpg

It didn't reach through to the panel on the far side, so the panel was able to come off its peg, taking the other bits with it.

I shall look for a longer screw.

I transformed it along with Emgo's videos. (Why would that make a difference here?)

You sir are a saint. Out of the box the folds weren’t oriented correctly. Causing my issue. The step by step in this video was perfect. Thanks a lot!

My video might have made the process less fiddly than Emgo's, which I have not watched.

I don't wish to sound rude, but I've heard of Emgo and I'm afraid that I hadn't heard of you. Unless you're one of the other youtube reviewers by a different name? Sorry!

But, as I said, the transformation isn't complicated. I put him back in bot mode in maybe ten minutes without needing any instructions or video at all. By "fiddly" I was referring to all the little flaps and panels. No method of transformation, no matter how good or clear, is going to change that because it's the design. The process itself isn't fiddly.

Emgo's transformation was excellent, as usual. I transformed Stack watching the video in real time, only pausing when the front part fell off!

No, I'm a nobody. I just make occassional videos when I think I can help people with complex things.

That is good of you. I wasn't implying that you're not "someone important", just that I wouldn't have known how to find your video, or indeed that there was a video to find.

They have been posted in this page and referenced many times. At least you had a video to watch when you transformed yours, I had to use the terrible instructions.

I got frustrated with reviewers saying "this transformation is horrible! Pieces have to be forced round each other" when FT Air Raid came out and since I'd figured out a better way I thought people might appreciate it.

I miss 22’s fake wheels and the ability to remove the cab.

These are stupid nitpicks on an otherwise incredible figure, mind you.
