Ha! That's an unintented coincidence, just need a proper MP Jazz to emulate it even better!

 

I wouldn't say the instructions miss steps, but the order isn't always the best or the pictures are very hard to see. Normally I wait on the videos, but since I got him so early, I wanted to give some first impressions.

 

My complaints about the transformation aside, he does look nice in a group shot:


Just not sure what else to add on this shelf. There is space for one more figure, but I hate Wheelie. I am open to suggestions.

I really wish we'd get a 2.0 of FT Hoodlum with the neck/shoulders redesigned.

 

And a better face design… the prototype was leaps ahead of the release IMO

Blurr or Wreck-Gar are the most obvious new movie bots to add IMHO...

 

Still like MP22, might replace him with a Delta Magnus at some point so I can still have a version of the mold.

I keep forgetting Blurr is a thing. Well, the Fanstoys version is way too expensive, so I will hunt down a UT version. Thanks for the tip!

After the complexity of making a transformation guide video for Locke v2 I can't see how paper instructions could ever work for it.

 

After a few days of owning MX-22, I can confidently say a few things:

• The QC sticker is a joke, there were 2 things out of the box I needed to fix that X-trans could've easily addressed via basic QC (unscrewing shoulder + missing plastic nub on left waist skirt, leading it to not be secured in place and keep falling out), and 1 thing out of the box (regluing a panel back on) that could've been addressed with better mold tolerances. Trying to get in on the same hype FT gets with their figures, but it really didn't work.
• The transformation instructions included are garbage. For the love of god reference someone's transformation video to understand anything.
• After forcing myself to transform him about 5 times I've gotten familiar with all of the steps. Honestly, less bullshit than some previous XBT releases. The only other x-trans figure I own is Locke (v2 I think) which is tolerance hell by comparison to Stack.
• Why isn't the matrix diecast? It feels super flimsy and cheap. Larger than most matrixes included with MP figures (fits Stack's massive hands better) but it just looks impressively unimpressive, and the glue holding the pieces together fell apart in seconds.

Overall, not unhappy with the figure, but it's an experience to own and if you're not prepared to either never transform it or brace yourself through some annoying engineering, can't say it's worth the asking price.

For the grey I used Tamiya light grey fine surface primer then just coated with TS-79 semi-gloss clear. Their grey TS spray paints are all varying shades darker than their primer, and I didn't want to go any darker than that. For the eyes I used TS-23 light blue and also coated with TS-79.

They were already spread
