Sorry...... Ill go back to my attic..
:(  Roadking is to me atleast one of the best most impressive engineered Tf in some time. I love everything about him. The only thing that would have madehim better, is that Menasor parts would have been incorparated, like just the head or something. But i wouldnt know how.

i dunno that transformation video does not look great, but there's also another way of looking at it imo, he does it in 30 minutes, that's not that bad for "this over complicated over engineered" figure
i don't know about you but the official takara sunstreaker took me 2 hours to transform those stupid feet and getting this hips and chest the right way round and i was using a video guide to

i would suggest that @ibot that somebody do an step by step guide to save all the hassle, i mean if you remember what happened to janssen i think video guides are worth doing

Might need to wait for the figure to be released first.

the crazy thing is if this is a solid release they've met ALL of those aside from "panel forming" which lets face it...its mostly a personal preference on what one subjectively thinks is a "good transformation". i don't mind panels at all, even the multi tiered ones used here.

I will have to pass, XTB is famous for plastic tolerance issues, so a transformation like this is not a good idea.

Have to keep my old Takara MP and will see what FT has to offer what… 5 years later? XD

Flashback vibes watching that transformation video, ultra magnus doesn’t need a base mode.

considering what this figure has accomplished I'm willing to forgive the complex transformation, as long as the materials are very good & no breakage.

Just got my payment notice from ShowZ for the toon version, but I thought the toy version was first?

Regardless, this has been a bloody expensive few weeks...

Tell that to Magic Square Optimus 2.0, who just got upsized from Legends to MP scale and is one of the cleanest, least panel-y bot modes and truck modes out of the MP options, while also having an intuitive transformation, plus some of the best articulation. Fit and finish may be questionable on that figure, but overall design for Legends figures these days, especially from NA and MS, are nearing and even sometimes surpassing that of MP scale figures imo

I think 3P MP designers and official MP designers have become too comfortable with no limits on parts count and price and just adding panels and steps and panels and steps and at some point it just becomes overwhelmingly complex and pointless. Compared to 3p Legends scale which has a distinct limit in complexity due to the size, and the designs are thriving, with designers discovering more intuitive and clever ways to make shapes work simply and smartly

Ps, I don't know what the conversation is lmao, I'm just responding to this one comment that I scrolled past

Optimus also is a bot who doesn't need to be complicated. The convo was about legends ultra magus being able to not be super complicated to achieve a toon bot. Many legends figures make compromises that would be unacceptable at the MP level. Sure legends have their exceptions that are amazing in all modes, but the same can be said for MP figures that are simple and achieve their goals.

Still waiting on my shipping quote to pay it from TFS-EXPRESS. They're usually quicker than this.

I guess that is the perk of having it pre paid. Although I am slowly moving away from tfs since there aren't enough new releases to stack orders and save on shipping. I've mostly gone back to showz.

Maybe I just need to buy more to bundle to get their attention?

That's probably it. I need to buy more.
