Did they ever actually make a microman toro xtransbots figure
I wonder how MP-45 Bumblebee would look with Toro. I'm torn between wanting a realistic Porsche or not now. I am the same with Bumblebee, but I can pretend 45 is a "new beetle", since he kinda looks like it with being now rounded on both ends. Can Toro be "stretched" a little taller to match MP-45?
MP 45 is way taller than MP 21. It won't work with most 3p minibots.
Even the most chibified ones are going to look off because of the size, sadly.
Yeah, looks like it. Oh well.
Can anybody post a scale comparison to a CHUG figure of the last few years? Curious about it.
Huh, so would it he accurate to call him a Scout sized figure?
Maybe halfway between scout and deluxe. I had seaspray, warpath, and brawn out the other day and Toro is easily double their volume. He's scaled for masterpiece. If you were to put him with a bigger bot, like powermaster prime in combined mode, he would probably look OK. I don't have siege Jetfire, but that might work too.
The only masterpiece I have is Soundwave, typically I only buy CHUG, but I like Cliffjumper enough to have bought this and he won't be here for like a week, so anticipation is building.
He really is a great looking cliffy! There's a siege cliffy coming too, really excited about him.
Yeah Siege Cliffjumper is gonna be my main one, hoping he'll scale okay with the KBB New age Bumblebee KO.
Right now that Bee is standing next to my hot soldiers Cliffjumper, and wow, that was a disappointment.
I feel your pain, I don't have HS cliffy on the same shelf with HS Bee. I wish NewAge (?) would have done a cliffy at the same size as their bee. I have no idea how there are so many repaints of other things, and no cliffy. There's also an iron factory cliffy coming.
If you need, I can snap a shot of toro with some of those HS/NA bots.
Would appreciate it if its not a bother, thank you
No sweat. Toro is in the middle
About a head shorter than Cog then, honestly smaller than I was expecting, though not a mark against it. Thanks for the visual aid.
For the record, here's the Newage OSKO and Hot Soldiers' Cliffjumper. Robot mode scales fine with each other, but trouble in paradise happens with the car modes.
oh wow, so that's like a classics bee?
I think the OSKO is the closest thing you could get to a genuine G1 Classics Bumblebee. Problem is scale is a bit of an issue. In Robot mode he scales perfectly with the Legends scale, but in car mode he's more a deluxe scale, somehow.
The OSKO also has some actual improvements over the original Newage figure, such as wrist swivels and genuine wheels. Still has the angled squared peg that makes his weapon pretty much useless though.
I wonder if MP-45 complicates whether XTB wants to do anything more with this mold. While XTB already has a bunch of minibots out the door already, Cliffjumper's the one more closely associated with Bumblebee, MP-45 will more or less be the standard bearer for him going forward, and he's apparently more than a little bit taller than MP-21 or Toro here. The discrepancy will be a bit more dramatic once MP-45 gets into collector's hands. That said, MP-45 remains a bit polarizing amongst MP fans, we're also a G2 Hubcap away from the G2 minibots being wrapped up (if you still count MP-21), and things like Yellow Cliff, Tap-Out, and Microchange Blue Cliff are still easy random redecos and/or convention exclusives to toss out. There's also the "MP-49 is Cliffjumper" rumor that's been out there recently.
I am happy with MP21 (well, actually, he kind of sucks, but so does MP45). MP45 thows everything way too far off in scale, and, personally, I just don't like how he looks.
MP21 is the right size Bee for me.
I remain very muddled on the new Bumblebee. My reaction has softened since its initial reveal, I like the 'toon aesthetic for MPs, and next to MP-21 I see its benefits...yet there are still things that bug me about it, and when I see a group shot like yours and MP-21 still looks right at home with the rest of the Autobot lineup.
I think I'd happily take any redecos of Toro that XTB would do, and still think Toro makes a solid MP Cliffjumper until something better (and not necessarily bigger or 'toonier) comes along, but I also get it if they just opt to redo Cliffjumper again to synch up with MP-45 or move on entirely from that character.
