And a question if you dont mind: Replacing the figures bought from e-tailers and nice and all, but are there any news for those who bought from ali/ebay?

Actually XTBs are known to do modifications on their faulty designs between waves, if the problem is severe like they did with Reflector and Scourge, so I would write it off completely (provided they DO give two shits in actuality).

 

I responded to your post a couple of weeks back on the Menasor leg issue so I guess the "fanboy" tag is intended for me. I'm not defending the issue of the screw not being tightened enough, the resulting breakages, nor the choice of screw/connection type itself. I've criticised them plenty for various things in the past as well. However I offered a potential solution to hopefully help some people avoid breaking theirs, because you know, this is supposed to be a community of sorts where it doesn't need to be "us vs them" for every single thing. If suggesting a potential solution instead of unrelenting criticism makes me an XTB fanboy then sure, I guess I am.

To reiterate my take on the leg issue on the off chance it might help someone: A potential solution which worked for me was to ensure the joint is fully pushed together and tighten the screw, after which I've had no issues. Again, not condoning the issue in the first place, only offering a constructive solution.

Back to Locke,

Hopefully that's right and the colours match the movie a bit better on the second run, and they paint the abs too. Seeing as XTB don't want the first run figures back I'll probably do the same and use him on a S4 shelf.

Pretending that everyone who has an answer or solution to something is a fanboy is a really easy way for a lot of people to exempt themselves from being responsible for their own problems. That’s why people do that sort of thing. And you’re right, it’s utterly obnoxious.

 

I reached out yesterday and got this response "You can contact us when the new version comes, I think we will work out a solution asap.
Does yours have any defects?"

I did let them know mine had some of the problems noted here but I didn't get it nearly as bad as some others did. I also told them I was too scared to transform him in case they did go the return route.

 

Same here. Terrified. If it breaks, im stuck with a broken Locke for a while.

 

Got my copy in....cracked thighs around the ball joints on the target masters, a crack on the inner shin where the pin is pinched though, the ankle part that falls off, right lower leg which doesn't tab together and a fender piece that fell off as the screw's too short.



Also messages XTB and they did I'd need to return it to them when the V2 is ready. Who pays for that return postage is TBD. To me, it shouldn't be the buyer that pays for that

 

Give all the feedback to XTB's quickly, they are currently ironing out the design defects.

I eventually found time to "enjoy" my Locke copy. I have been very careful since we all know it is fragile and has bad QC. Unfortunately, I still got a piece broken and several aging marks. Some exist simply out of box. I have sent email to XTB customer service and look forward to their feedback ...

I still have XTB Springer preordered. Wish it won't be such a piece of junk ...

 

Some of the pieces look like the mould sucked so, they filled holes in with epoxy and recast.

If you buy from TaoBao, I doubt XTB will cover the overseas shipping.

My copy is in a better shape, though still flawed. I will see how the new figure is like before deciding if I want to exchange.

Shipping from Singapore to China is not that expensive, but it is not that cheap either. I think it'll cost around 100 yuan (~US$15) for me to ship it back. (The figure costs around ~600 yuan.)

 

XTB Miss Zou responded that they are producing new batch as replacement. Meanwhile, the seller I bought from confirmed the same plan. I don’t need to ship back the bad copy. The seller said I would need to pay the shipping fee for the replacement though. Not bad if the new batch has big improvements.

 

Showz posted on Facebook that xtb Springer is being delayed to deal with the Locke problem too

 

I got mine from a Tobao seller as well. So XTB will allow us to ship it back to them.
@minstral did you ask XTB if they will cover the return shipping?
Will XTB ship the v2 directly to us(customers)?

 

Why do they even want it back?

So they can harvest his parts.

 

Maybe to retire a defective product from the market, I guess.

 

This whole “no need to return” thing is gonna cause problems for anyone wanting to buy or sell one on the secondary market. Wonder if many will try to sell v1 as a v2?
