the magnum Ferrari was a 308, like Wildrider.

I don't know their inner workings, but I feel from my own perception that FT is much more focused on cartoon characters than toy-only ones. Other than their Dinobot redecos, they really haven't ventured outside of on-screen characters. For example, I would be a bit surprised if they actually make a Magnificus from their Perceptor, but I expect XTB probably will do it. I wonder if they didn't meet their expectations on the Diaclone and G2 Dinobots and gave up on that sort of thing? That'd make me sad, because their Dinobot redecos were really awesome. Plus, FT can do some cool engineering (like making a MP-10 sized track AND trailer turn into Motormaster) and I'd love to see that applied to things beyond making impossible cartoon models happen.

 

Yep. They did. All 3 toys had a "battle mode" that revealed wings (1 used the doors, 1 had fold-out wings) and/or additional weaponry a la M.A.S.K.

 

I think he means extra real car gimmicks like the pop-up headlights and opening doors. Dont think the G1 toys had those - just their battle mode gimmicks. I'm OK with these being added if they don't compromise the figure. I feel with Fuzz they did a little - the fiddly seats and steering wheel/dash parts really got in the way in an already awkward transformation. Hopefully it's improved with these guys.

Ha ha, this gets confusing fast! The Ferrari toy did in fact have pop-up lights (they became his toes in robot mode), but they were on the top of the car; the Nissan toy had opening reverse-gullwing doors.

Nonetheless, your point is taken! The car gimmicks on the masterpiece versions are probably what he was referring to.

Great! I was just pondering whether to buy a KO G1 Tracks MISB, since I recently acquired the KO of G1 Optimus Prime, Mirage (blue and red version), and Hound...and then I see this! Maybe it's a sign that I should buy it? Anyway, I have the MP of RoadRage, and I'm quite happy with her, exculding the fact that there's a gap between the back of her and the backpack.

 

yea, the MP Tracks could have been so much better, bt, it is what it is.

 

Dude, count me tf in for a new Tracks, Road Rage and Loudpedal. Would be PERFECT to see this come next, since we pretty much have the foundational engineering already down pat.

Overdrive (red) is a Ferrari 512Bb
Camshaft (silver) is a Mazda RX7
Downshift (white) is a Toyota Supra

 

I've been waiting for an XTB Tracks since Grapple, Hoist, and Skids.
I hope it will happen eventually.

 

First car i ever bought was a 2nd gen RX-7 and have restored a 1974 RX-4, so anything rotary engine related has my attention.

Have had a binaltech RX-8 for years
i just picked up FansHobby MB-13 which is a 2nd gen RX-7
Will probably get XTB camshaft too, if the engineering isn't a major headache
i dont like displaying stuff and not handling it

At that point in time the Toyota was still technically called the Celica Supra in the States and the Celica XX in Japan, though maybe in some parts of the world it was just “Supra”. Semantics aside, the A60 is one of my favorite cars of the 80s, making Downshift the one in this trio I’m most anxious to get.

An RX-4? Damn, I’m jealous! Those are cool little cars and sound like a giant angry bumblebee when revved.
