The thing about the yellow rally truck that don't interest me was that there wasn't a yellow Diaclone Trailbreaker, was there? I thought he only came in blue.

 

No, each Hilux got two colors each in Diaclone. Both Hoist and Trailbreaker had blue versions, while Hoist also had a red (Lift-Ticket) and Trailbreaker had yellow.

 

@TigerBlade I hate to ask for such a super particular picture, but is there anyway you could get a well-lit photo of him without a flash? It's the shade of grey/black that he is that is throwing me off. In the official photos he looks black, but yours definitely looks grey. Much appreciated!

 

I did report it and the post was removed. But he commented again afterward sarcastically praising imo the worst part of my amateur paint job. I mean jeez it was my first custom and I posted the thread a couple years ago. I thought it came out all right. I should redo the head when I get a chance.

 

My pics are all taken without flash, in a room full of gu10 spotlights with a Huawei p30 bud. I'll get you one in the morning under natural light, it's overcast and raining here right now.

I'd totally be up for it. Plus, you know that even if Takara does make one of the Diaclone colors, they won't make ALL of them. Like with Sunstreaker, we got Cordon, but we didn't get a red version (at least not yet). With there being so many colors between the Hoist/TB molds in Diaclone, hopefully we could get a good number of them across the various companies. I like the idea of being able to get these different characters from different molds too. Like having official Artfire but OX's Roadhauler and maybe Maketoys for G2 Inferno, for example. Helps break up the samey-ness of it all.

 

Diaclone colours are great. It’d be great if they did the red lift-ticket deco for Paean.

 

Can't wait for Aegis 2.0 to come out!

Takara... you have a lot to answer for with your bizarre cartoon style Masterpiece Abominations of lacking details and missing paint ops that you encouraged that "Thing" to be made.

I'm starting to seriously Dislike Animation slanted Masterpieces and I mean VERY SERIOUSLY I see it as asking me to pay a premium price for an inferior product and I really do not like that at all.

Besides the original one is tons cheaper as well as looking nicer overall.

 

I wonder if there is a way to remove the silver leg and arm parts from the v1 and install them on v2. That along with the supposed qc improvements would make v2 pretty good. That off white that they have for the v2 is awful looking.

You gotta love how MP Inferno has not details in the rear bumper area. Also, how the horns are left as red plastic instead of chromed like the MMC version. Plus no clear headlights.

 

@ibot any chance there will be a repaint colored like v1 coming up?

 

I was actually looking at some aftermarket labels for MP Inferno - it does help him quite a lot - but when they actually leave details off the mould that isn't idea - then I start wondering about 3D printing parts to stick on them - which is hardly ideal, perhaps I'd be less salty about this they'd done them this way from the outset - but to change half way ontop of changing size part way along in the line just drove me a bit nuts.

Ratchet and Ironhide didn't bother me as much as Inferno did though - but this "Grey Trailbreaker" falls somewhat into the same camp as Inferno for me for being a bit to plain looking.

 

No one is forcing you to buy any of it and the beauty here is you have 4 other options.

That said long may companies make these 'things'. They're evoke an option that we've never had in toy form before and I for one am thankful for it.

 

I have v1 here and v2 on preorder for the express purpose of finding out. Right now I’m guessing shoulder and hand swaps will be enough to improve v1, but if they don’t bolt in I’ll try it the other way...

 

Mmmm. And knowing XTB they’ll gladly recreate those sticker details.

 

I don't recall TB ever being charcoal grey - is this another animation error that people take as a canon like Starscream's wing logos being upside down.
