I think you will find most folks will point out that they will pay for the figure, just not ten dollars shy of their Perceptor's price. Their Punch/Counterpunch has three modes and is thirty bucks less than this large action figure.

 

And some collectors are willingly scammed out of their money.

EDIT: Shit I thought you were still talking about X-Frank LMAO, but if XTB keeps going without any extra stuff, it might seem like for the price this thing ends up like a soap bottle.

Disagree. Price is out of control, in my opinion. But I am happy some are getting what they want. Hopefully there is no articulation or quality issues at that price.

I personally don't see it as fair for a non-transforming figure, when they have other figures that can transform for less. People have been quite vocal to XTB about unwanted electronics and lights hiking up the prices, and it seems we're echoing it again. At least chances are good it may quickly hit clearances, like Dr. Egg did, and maybe even Le Poulpe. However some folks may enjoy it at that price point, so have at it! I'm definitely still interested in this, but will wait on a price drop, if any, unlike Dr. Egg, which despite the price drop, I still personally see is too large.

I mean, you do you and there's no wrong answer here but for me, Autobot Spike is based on Frankenstein's monster and what pose fits Frankenstein's monster more than the base pose the Blue Lobster figure is in?

But, different strokes for different folks......whatever you or anyone else prefers in their own collection is the right answer.

So yeah, I think there's a lot more that can be done with Autobot Spike here, and if XTB really wants to charge $130, they should really go all out and show that it's not only worth $130, but another bang for your buck release like Perceptor.

Hmmmm I dunno. He's a big guy, and even without transforming there's still a high parts count in a fully articulated robot. But yeah I have to agree $130 is a bit nuts for what is shown so far!

I agree with some of what you say my man @ThatGuyCalledBlaster, love your face suggestions particularly! As simple as those pics are, you really manage to capture some personality and emotion (of the tortured kind, lol!).

On the other hand I think rather than making this some super premium set full of gimmicks to try and make it worth $130, I'm personally thinking this is just Autobot X - just keep it simple and make the price tag cheaper! $100 tops. Let's not get into sound chips, please.

If you're listening and there's time, @ibot, @Grifter Prime, here's some feedback that would help sell it at least to me. It seems very little has changed since the old prototype - I cant spot much more significant changes than the removed curvature on the front of the thighs and the removed lines on the right outer lower leg. Could still use some tweaks, imho...

- The nissan chest part - I understand why it's done that way - it looks like the real car part and the MP Datsun bros. But then in this modern era of toon accuracy it looks a little off. Who knows the MP Datsuns might get a re-do one day? Keeping the realistic chest part but just tilting it down somewhat would help capture the character's look more, imho.

- I personally really don't like the broken looking appearance of the knee joint from the front. It has an MP-11 vibe! MP engineering has moved onto thighs that cleanly sink into the lower leg, with the principle joint at the top of the lower leg rather than above it in the bottom of the thigh. You can achieve so much with a well placed single joint, like MP Megatron, Starscream, Hound, Sunstreaker, Arcee, or a natural nice looking double like Prime V3

- I like Thatguy's suggestion of top articulation. Although looks like it is pretty much there already. Butterfly shoulders would be nice. Then again - this is Autobot X here!  

- I don't get the thinking behind accentuating the screw holes with raised rings around them on the arms! Looks like he's covered in craters! Or some nasty warty disease.

- I like a seductive curved Megatrony shin as much as the next guy, but Autobot X doesn't have one

- Maybe a slightly more compressed face and/or stretched forehead to give that Frankenstein look. Not like the side profile view in the toon model (oh my god!) but just a little more
