In the X-files, there is an episode that totally deals with The Cigarette Smoking Man, that starts with him spying on a man with a rifle.
anyway, it reveals that he has been trying to become a published author, but the only magazines that publish his work are XXX mags and they edit them to shreds.

that is a tribute to Kilgore Trout, from Kurt Vonnegut's novels...
Kilgore Trout always wrote stories and they usually only got accepted by sleazy mags.

    dontcha love trivia?

Series 4, Musings of a Cigerette Smoking Man.

Much better episode then almost all of the actual conspiracy stuff from that year, even if allot (perhaps all) of it is false.

That was a great epiosde. I loved his "box of chocolate" monologue. Man I miss the X-Files. I hope the new movie is good.
