After doing the hammer fix, I fell back in love with this one. Had to do some painting. I think im going to take my extra copy and make it battle damaged.

I used a tomahawk MK19 to scratch build extra parts to make it look like an old 37mm Maxim PomPom. Though that would be a sweet weapon for him to have on top, and as a hand held, "anti armor/Mech" weapon. I used a rare earth magnet to easily connect the ammo belt.

Next up is hot rod..I think I will put an MG34 or MG42 on top of his and give it some German decals.

EDIT: Recieved my can of dullcoat..so much happier with the finish. Had to lock in the weathering with the clear, but the shine looked horrible

Nicely done! I like the added realism. It makes it pop.
You need to invest in a can of Dull Coat to kill the shine. Looks better with military paint.

Very nice job there :thumbs2: :thumbs2:
With the ammo belt coming out of the backpack the backpack actually makes sense as being an ammunition storage.
And I can't wait to see those o_O

Great job man love how you even went above and beyond and added more stuff to him! Anyways, do not order your paint from amazon. I found that i wanted too many items but i have to order from different sellers; hence multiple shipping fees. I did not want to pay all those shipping charges from different places as they add up quick. Order from a specialty store like houseofhobbies.com as they are an actual store and that their prices are not bad at all even with shipping. Also, i passed on that bee so many times and i kind of regret it now so i got hot rod!

Are you spraying it or brushing it in?

Spray and brush. I'll spray the big areas, and brush in areas. I've been out of painting so long, this one was refreshing.

Seriously thinking of giving hot rod a german field grey color instead of the almost black color.

I used a bunch of different paints for weathering, but for top and corners I'm using these tamiya weathering things..they are like little makeup compacts with applicator brushes...I like them ALOT. Like..I like them so much I really wanna build this 48scale Flak88 model I have. These things give some of the best detail and weathering I've seen, and it's real easy to apply and or take off. You just seal it when your done and it's some of the nicest easiest layers I've done. Theres 5 different greens on that bee, and 6 different sand tones. 1 green and 3 sand tones were the weathering. I have a flesh tone set I use for my 8" figures.

The stuff is great. If you let it sit and kinda air dry..it will stay decent. If you get it on spots you dont like, or try to make a "rub" spot..wipes off easy if you dont wait too long.
