These reviews are super helpful! I think the mold itself is the part that I'm not sold on. Actually I initially thought that the inner chest pieces on the new guy folder down instead of up, so I think it is closer and makes the chest more satisfactory to me. However I think for now I'll still stick with a dekibbled OSKO of the dotm deluxe bee

Just wondering, what's the OSKO of the DOTM Deluxe Bumblebee that you are referring to? Can you post a link?

    Thank you!

They're all over ali express and I've seen a police variant, a red variant and a talk variant as well. Relatively cheap and here's a link to atl one of them. Size is shown in description.

Oh, I’m sure he’s a pleasant enough person when the camera’s off. But the persona he projects into his reviews and social media presence is incredibly irritating IMO.

I like Alfonso, but I can understand why he'd be irritating to people in his videos. One thing that made me start to dislike him a bit is how he has been so outspoken about reviewers like PVP getting figures early. He'll condemn them for getting these stolen factory or QC reject figures and claim that it harms the brand... but he'll buy KOs and praise them for being so much better than the official and how he'll wait for the KO to improve stuff.

Oh really? I knew how much he loves KOs, but to pair that with the other thing makes no sense. I think KOs are kind of a weird subject, for me at least. Like I always feel a bit bad about it, but most of the best figures I’ll ever own are a KO of some form or another. I guess I’m just trying to enjoy the ride and I’ll be sad if/when it’s over but I won’t be devastated.

Yep. I haven't seen it as much recently but I remember it popping up a lot starting from when PVP leaked SS Bumblebee movie Wheeljack to when people were disappointed by the Fans First Friday back in like... February? Somewhere around there, blaming the disappointment people had on leaked/stolen figures and the people reviewing them. I even called it out on one of his YouTube community posts back around the time of that FFF and his response was just "Yeah, thats wrong too, but that doesn't make what I said less true".

It just feels weird to me because KOs can actively hurt the brand because its legitimate theft and possibly taking sales away from Hasbro/Takara. Much worse than someone being the first to show off 1 single figure in a video or picture. To me it just isn't consistent to say "theft is theft" or "stealing ain't cute" but loudly talk about how much you love KOs and make videos about them.

I used to feel kinda weird about KOs but it doesn't bother me now. I'll take whatever I think is best, whetehr its the official, KO, or KO of the KO. Hell, I usually get all of the officials first and then the KO, like with the majority of the MPM line. Plus I feel like ones like this Bumblebee are kinda good in a way as it adds some new stuff to keep things interesting and gives people a way to get this guy. Its surprising that we haven't got some sort of rerelease or updated MPM-03 in 5 years.

Yeah I have settled into this same pattern, there's just this little voice in the back of my head that makes it feel weird. So like you said, whichever is best, but I only really go for KOs when they offer significant mold changes, or at least one or two improvements that I think significantly improve the figure.

I'd like to see a third party redo his forearms so they're not so wide. More like battle blade Bumblebee. Those could be sold as their own parts to go on any of the MPM Bee molds...

Hey! In this video, the reviewer shows some other modifications: individual articulated fingers (8:32) (9:22), side chest(?) panels (6:53) and He point out that the face sculpt has more details. (Is in spanish btw)

not bad. If he was more improved or I wasn’t already up to my ears in BB I might jump. But I don’t think it’s enough to get me to buy this guy yet again.

now if someone just did the rotf bumper, that would probably do it for me.

@Chris C137 thanks so much for the comparison and breakdown. I've got a a nice collection of most of the MPM bots but I had sold off my BB figures because I was getting sick of so many Bumblebee figures.

But now my collection looks a bit wonky without a yellow bb figure in there so gonna give this one a try. Thanks for sharing your feedback and pics with us!

I have all three versions of this mold: official, KO1 and this KO2 and I prefer KO2 with the additional screen-accuracy. The figure doesn’t seem as premium as the original KO, but I really prefer the part upgrades. I was able to get the chest to tilt accurately, so that also helps.

(Oh and I painted the Chevy logo, it’s molded in ugly yellow. Also, ShowZ included a great variety set of dry rub decals, one of which I applied to his forehead crest.) image.jpg

Woah chest looks really good in this picture. I was always confused why the inner chest folded the wrong way but turns out it can do both. My brother ordered this from ShowZ and depending on how that feels I might too!

I've always had a soft spot for this mold and feel as though someone can/should really take it all the way. It is a few steps away from being a legendary offering.
    • Better compressed chest
    • Neck for better head positioning
    • Articulated head antennae
    • Weighted on the legs for better stability
    • Improved accuracy for hip skirt/armor pieces
    • Better articulation/rotation on the upper arms
    • Overall detailing
    • Door/wing engineering to minimize and segment
    We're so close!

Lol, a few steps. Might as well just start from scratch at that point.
