My dad works with a guy who puts ketchup on his steak.
Personally, Au jus or salt is what I use for steak. A well seasoned steak, and you don't need any add ons.

There are a lot of things in life that we don't need. Some things we partake of because they make things better. :D

My favorite steak is one from a cow I just beat to death with my fist, cooked in a stone furnace over hot coals I just dug out of the rock with a stone pick axe. Mmm-mm none fresher.

I've got cows in my yard. brb getting steak.

    Pre-emptive:

You guys got to argue in ouroboroutic unending circles about A1 back in the other thread. Don't reply to each other about it unless you have something new to add. And by that I mean, something that you absolutely know for certain that I will believe is something new in the context of WTF@TFW threads that contain discussion of sauces in tandem with steak.

    Thanks! <3

Good point, and Perhaps I should admit, I have not yet tried Steak Au Puave, So my point on the matter is somewhat limited.

I Like Medium to Medium rare. Since I don't use sauce at all. The flavor needs to come from the steaks natural juices, and seasonings/ rub.

Cooking it longer than that is just drying out the meat.

    Checking my steak spices out:
Paprika, French Rosemary, basil, Garlic, Onion powder, Oregano.

best steak I've ever had was at Smith and Wollinski's in Vegas. Prime Rib that was bigger than my plate and cost about $70... but it was fantastic (and Medium rare).

Interesting podcast. I for one don't care how my steak is prepared if it ain't oozing blood than I'm good and depending on my mood I'll eat it regular or with condiments (via ketchup (boo), A1 (hiss), or BBQ sauce) because well I'm a simple guy who likes simple things and if thats a problem with some people than I'm cool with it.

Speaking of steak, you know what's good? Beef hot dogs. Get a little ketchup, a little mustard, that's one fine frank. I honestly don't know why anyone would ever want anything else on their hotdog, or to have the meat of some dirty animal on it.

I'm very glad to hear that Aaron is keeping true to the course with regards to steak. Clearly here is a man who knows good beef when he sees it.

Given that I do live in the heart of BBQ and grilling country I'd like to extend an invitation to the podcast members. If you all, for whatever reason, find yourself in my neck of the woods, come on over. I will grill you up a steak the proper way, with my own secret dry rub. And yes, it will be rare and the best steak you have ever eaten.

(In a Villainous Tim Curry voice, read rest of paragraph in said voice not your own) Here I am again!

Vangelus, my apologies for the derail of the 192 Steak thread but it was fun to watch (evil laugh here) Let me make it up to you by taking this thread to where you originally intended to go (evil hand rub, here)

I like having steak on a pizza and dipping the crust in A1 sauce. Let that be the last word on A1 sauce, no baked or mashed potatoes needed here but you can have an order of french fries (followed by an evil grin)

We have a franchise in Ontario, Canada called Pizza Nova who make very delicious pizzas (I will admit I am a fanboy of their work). I must say though that my favourite pizza from them is a Chicken and Feta pizza on a thin or regular multigrain crust cooked medium, not well done. It is an absolutely delectable pizza in an eyes roll back in your head and a toe curling fashion. An excellent blend of meaty and salty, cheesy goodness. Vangelus please try one if you haven't had one already. Otherwise my driver will pick one up for us the next time we cross paths at a local convention like TFCon or in Burlington.

Cheery O and on with the thread!

I don't like steak, or any kind of meal that involved a slab of meat on my plate. Save kebabs. But if I do have steak it's never without some kind of tomato or mustard based sauce. Nowadays it's honey mustard, maybe HP.

The kind of meal I prefer is a casserole, like say pizza. Or curry.
