This has got to be the third or fourth time Vangelus has brought up that pornographic Cars fanfiction, and each time we learn something new about it
The temptation to see how much I could get away with for a thumbnail was so enticing this episode, but upon more in-depth research I discovered things no mortal should ever see.
I forgot how behind you guys were with uploading these. I remember when this hurricane happened. I was worried for TJ. I’m glad he made out okay. As someone who’s been in a similar situation when Hurricane Sandy hit ten years back, it can be rough dealing with the aftermath. I’m also happy the storm didn’t ruin his daily video streak.
I think vangelus misinterpreted the frustration on Breakdown. I don't think people were upset specifically cause it's a retool, I think people were upset cause of how limited a retool it was Dead End out of Dragstrip was mental, it's crazy how good Dead End turned out, but Dead End is 10000% a different car compared to Drag Strip Breakdown is just the wrong car. In a team where the big shtick is everyone is a particular super car, it's disappointing that the lambo countach member is just the Ferrari member with a spoiler. It's the wrong shape, lambos are a lot more wedge-y than the Ferrari. We saw how far they're willing to re-shell a transformation with Dragstrip-Dead End, so it's doubly frustrating that he's the last member and obviously had the least amount of effort put in. Like people who are getting this don't really have a choice of they're already a commander and 3 deluxes into the combiner. Robot mode looks really good, but the absolute lack of almost any alteration to make breakdown the right car mode, I think thats what people are up in arms about. Feels like we had the wool pulled over out eyes in the final hour of this menasor project
They very easily could have made the color scheme shattered glass Astrotrain instead. I wonder if it was on paper somewhere but they said "no, let's give it to the Victory stans. They've been good."
Great episode, gentlemen! Aaron, I'm glad you're ok after that crash. TJ, I'm also glad your safe post hurricane! Vangelus, I'm glad you are able to share a living space. Yay conversation! Robot Masters is a line I never really got in to. I think I missed it honestly, as I started collecting again when the initial Classics figures were released. Although, listening to you all talk about it, maybe I'll check it out. Aaron, I can sympathize with moving and having things in boxes. My wife and I moved into a house 2 years ago and my collection wasn't really fully unpacked until this past summer. I hope you're able to get everything out and displayed soon!
I’m up to two shelf rows in place about half full with another one partially laid out. My biggest issue is figuring out which box has what I want to go in each place.
I understand that! Figuring out what box had what I wanted was rough. There was a point where I had damn near every Transformer I owed lined up on the floor just to find what I needed haha.
I’m headed that way currently. AND I want to do a real inventory too so I might be able to do a sell off.
That first batch of Robotmasters was my first real introduction to Japanese exclusive Transformers. I picked a bunch of them up at a convention when I was a teenager. When you said Bound Rogue and Psycho Orb it was like a rush of nostalgia for figures I haven’t thought about in a very long time. Always wanted Reverse Convoy but never got him, looked at the going price for him now and boy did he get expensive. Only one on eBay is sitting around $200.
