I have some pretty promient issues with the current design impetus for Generations...so I've a friggin' buttload of older toys I think are way more engaging than the current stuff. WAY more interesting imo. I do want to know whats coming in the next couple of years as we move fully out of the John Warden era products and into the next line. Will we have a strong shift in focus/gimmick or has this set a new norm?
Gotta mention that Lockdown never got a generations toy, you\'re thinking of the Revenge of the Fallen Lockdown that had been a popular stand in for a generations one.
I skipped WFC Hoist, Trailbreaker and Lift Ticket because I still honestly think the T30 version is a better toy. I still have my United Jazz because he's my IDW Jazz. My RTS Junkions are just more troops for the Junkion Army. They actually look pretty awesome riding the SS86 bike mold. Lastly, you'll get my TR Gnaws when you pry them from my cold, dead hands. Oh! and I think TR Wheelie looks better than the new Core Class, but that's me.
As far as Characters I'm waiting on... Where are the Rest of my Autobot Double Targetmasters???!!! My Scoop is Lonely The Decepticon DTMs have been updated (a couple more than once) Complete the Autobot team!!!
The moment I saw the combining sword I assumed this was our intro to the Legacy story. You almost could have packaged the trio with a fancy deco and a comic book that tells the tale. In the barren cybertronian wasteland left behind after the events of WFC Earthrise, last survivors Iguanus and a repaired Skywarp battle Rodimus for control of three artifacts that; when combined, form a sword with the power to open a portal to other universes. Having bested Rodimus, Iguanus uses the sword to open up a portal out of which steps the Legacy Decepticons. While Iguanus and Skywarp are distracted by the new arrivals, Rodimus makes a desperate last attack to retrieve the sword and succeeds, allowing him to escape with it to summon allies of his own. Then you’ve got your silhouettes of all the upcoming Autobot toys coming through the portal to end the comic.
I prefer power-armored Ultra Magnus, but my enjoyment of him was best when he was new, because he clearly wasn't Seige Optimus. Letting him be a bulky guy who kinda just looks like Optimus was important to me. It felt good it let him be a Bulkhead-ish type people underestimate. But then they crammed Cybertron Prime into Siege, but this was pre-Legacy, so they put him in the comics as G1 Fatimus and sucked the life right out UM's uniqueness.
I had the Toynami release of Skull Squadron Valkrie/Veritech back when they released them in the mid 2010s and it was JANK. Plastic felt really soft and kinda sus. I planned on acquiring the whole cast but quickly changed my mind. Where is my MTMTE Whirl you cowards?!?
I wish listed the Mirage/Grimlock 2 pack on Amazon...but I'm super happy with having CW Mirage as my G1 Mirage.
