NGL, when I was pulling up the episode image based on Vangelus\' description? I expected something INFINTELY more weeb-y.
I’ll be honest, as excited as I was for DX Don Onitaijin the limitations of the hips, along with a couple of other design choices, really kind of killed it for me. Like cool it has articulation but it feels tricky to actually make use of it. Here’s hoping they can keep trying at implementing this level of movement in future designs and maybe make it work better. Great podcast as always!
Nice to see the podcast come back. Nice to have something to listen to on the way to work. I also just want to note that in the IDW SG comics that Slicer appears in the Goldbug and Jetfire issues and they actually do call him Slicer. So I guess hasbro is just making him the SG version of Wheeljack.
I came so stupidly close to getting coronation Starscream. I checked him out at target.com and actually got emailed a coupon for near Voyager prices. BUT my store didn't have it available online whatsoever. Keep in mind Target has a pickup in store option. I say that because I went to my nearby Target the same day and they had several of them on the shelves, but only for full price because the coupon was online only. Deciding I didn't need it felt way more out of spite than it should've. So yeah, right before velocitron, the universe decided to remind me why I despise every time some brick and mortar store gets an exclusive.
And chance the yellowing is fire supressant material getting mixed into the plastic? I know modern toys don’t yellow like G1 because, the rules got changed so not all plastic requires it. So maybe they are mixing in the supressant when they shouldn’t or not cleaning the machines between batches? I’ve seen some power strips yellow fairly quickly after purchase
It very well could be something to that effect. Or they added 0.1% of a dye instead of .01%. Or it could be that they didn't let the batch extruder get to full temp before firing the mold shot. Or the let it get too hot. Or. Or. Or. Or. That's why you have a process engineer that helps set up the process for manufacturing a thing, and then makes sure they're following those processes. With the new factory locations starting just as 2020... well... 2020'd on everyone I'd wager that they didn't have nearly the level of controls in place that they'd usually have and didn't have the ability to send someone from Takara/Tomy or Hasbro to go and make sure they kept on track.
