After I heard the report from Dirge121 and it reminded me that my Shadow Raider will forever stay in Vehicle Mode because the ballsocket on his left Shoulder decided to break and now his shoulder won\'t plug together.

And the worst part, it was on the day I got him!!!

 

As far as future Vangelus's question, I have a pretty fun story about that.

So, about a month ago I went to Walmart to refill my prescription, and while it was getting filled up, I decided to take a look at the Transformers stuff, and found a single Cyclonus, which was the only one they had I didn't already have and was interested in. Turns out, he was actually great!

Outside of that, I made the decision to go in on one of the few things I wanted to go into as it was coming out, but didn't have the chance to until now with the AoE Dinobots. Slog just came in today and I snapped the dino neck, but the others have been really fun.

 

I'm enjoying these intermission questions!

Not a toy win, but certainly a Transformers collecting win and something I've wanted to do for a long time: I have just recently acquired every single original issue of the original Marvel UK Transformers run. So TF 1-332, Action Force 24-27, the '86 movie special, the seven annuals, and just for good measure that Woman's Day issue that randomly had a Budiansky-penned Christmas story. My intent is to get the run custom hardbound. I had a custom hardcover made of the G2 comic as a prototype for the process. I'm currently cutting out ads and unrelated back-up stories while listening to this episode.

Advice for anyone who may want to go on this collecting journey yourselves, especially if you're not in the UK, if you see a lot of the whole run on ebay for 1.5 to 2 grand, just go ahead and get it, it will make your life much easier and I guarantee you will spend that much hunting down issues separately. But make sure the last issues are included because they're certainly the most expensive.

The SG project got me wanting that SG Optimus/Ratchet. And debate a reprolabels kit and think who from the also rans would they recruit from the core universe?

 

A big toy collecting victory for me happened last year when I came across a user's sale thread on this site; He was selling his entire collection for insanely good prices. I messaged him and was able to buy a huge amount of toys for an absolute bargain. Stand out among them was the Cybertron Optimus/Wing Saber two-pack for much less than I would have gotten them individually.

 

I wound up parting with my OS Warbotron Bruticus this year, who was my first (and currently only) third party fig(s). Loved the figs, even moreso since thats my only Bruti-crew rep in my collection, but it was the easiest way i could free up an entire shelf of 5 MP sized dudes to make room for more inbound figures i had gained over the holidays. The guy i sold it to was ecstatic, im happy i could find someone who could appreciate it more than i could by having it live in my bottom shelf, not even combined. He kept sending me photos for the rest of the day of all the modes as he cycled through them, and his thoughts on them. I got to experience opening that figure for the first time again, through his eyes. It was super cool.

Conversely, my best find so far this year was the shattered glass two pack (ooOOooh topical) at a local EB Games thats almost always dead empty. one of the guys working there had hit me with the classic 'finding everything your looking for?', i wasn't even really looking for something specific for transformers that day, i was just coming to pick up a switch pre-order. When i told him i was just checking to see if there were any Gen Selects, he gave me a '...one second' and dipped into the back for almost 25 minutes. When he came out with the largest Gen Selects box i had seen i felt a pang of excitement in the center of my gut. Those figs are amazing, its the first time i got to handle the ER Op mold, and that earthrise Vanette mold seems to be super hard to experience on account of them all being in hard to find exclusive packs, which is a total shame 'cause it kicks. i never expected to land these two, so stumbling across (as far as his system was aware) the only set in literally my entire city, i was floating for the rest of that day.

@Vangelus is there any way you guys can upload the podcast to Spotify as well? It would really help it reach tons more people. many don't use Zune or iTunes. Til then I do enjoy that you at least give the .mp3 link.

I forgot I sent that Simpsons question in, but I was laughing the whole time. I have to say, you guys had better casting choices then me, especially with Galvatron and Cyclonus as Burns and Smithers. The one alternate casting I could make would be Megatron as Homer- with Soundwave as Marge (the component one) and Armada Sideways as Bart (mischevious)- and Optimus being Flanders due to everything always working out for him. 

 

To answer Future Vangelus\'s question, my toy collecting \'win\' was finally finding a Netflix Elita One on a random errand run and getting her for about 3 dollars less than retail. Up until that point, I thought I was going to have to order her online, paying extra to get her. 

 

Not exactly transformers but this past year I got an original DX GaoGaiGar from Paladin4221 here on the boards!

Also I maintain that Classics Grimlock has the best looking dino mode of any official G1-style Grimlock toy.
