technically the predacons never officially declare war on the maximals, meaning Megatron's actions were more of an insurgency or a roundabout coup d'etat. Hence, Beast Wars is actually an inaccurate name and NOT CANON. ALL HAIL BEASTIES, THE ONE TRUE NAME.

This was nicely timed. I had to go to a funeral today and this helped take my mind off it during the drive to and from.

Just because a war wasn't formally declared, doesn't mean it wasn't a state of war. The Predacons did not appear to have any sort of governmental body to be capable of representing their people. Only a poorly lit triumvirate. So the Beast Wars is like the War on Terror.

In fact there's probably way too many parallels to that analogy that would need the news and politics forum to come back. And nobody really wants that brand of headache.

I didn't forget. Nobody reminded me and the show went up super quickly. And. Uh. Reasons.

I see neither M.A.S.K nor Konvention in there. Do it again.

During a visit to Toronto way back, seeing 'Beasties' toys on the shelves and hearing the 'Beasties' version of the show's theme song definitely caused a few neurons to misfire.

You're weird, Canada. You're weird, but you're alright.

Hey does anyone know if, in addition to MASK, Hasbro has rights to Sky Commanders as well?

Man, it's cool that Victorion is out, but I am sad that there has been no word about a Takara Victorion. I am still holding out hope that they do one, maybe Hasbro Victorion looks better in person, but I would love a better paintjob even if I have to pay a lot more for it.

Q: Why Inferno so soon, he was only in 2 episodes? A: Because he is a firetruck!

Its funny that with the talk of a Hasbro movie-verse, and all-in-one convention that Battle Beasts never are brought up? They were pretty epic, and also fit into the Transformer fiction. Definitely have love for InHumanoids... with the success of Cloverfield, Pacific Rim, and Godzilla... I feel this one could work the best as a movie.

I'm curious about the content of a future Hasbro Transformer-con. Will it still be geared towards the older fans, will it focus on all eras past and present, or will it be something more for younger kids and would that be better for the future of the fandom?

I think Ultimetal Magnus would be considered a "second party" toy, since it's officially licensed, but not made by Hasbro (first party). Third party would be anything unlicensed.

Second Party is, by definition, the customer. Third Party does not directly mean unlicensed, it's just very common in the case of transforming robot toys.

    Hi Vangelus and crew,

Great episode. I am casually watching season 2 of RiD and I enjoy it in small doses, I find I can't marathon it.
But anyway, I have the reflector 3 pack coming to me, where did you say you could find directions on how to make them into the combined "orbital laser" thing?

The customer is the second party in the sense of the transaction between merchant and customer. In that case, a third party would be another outside party who had some interest/participation in the transaction.

But if you're talking about IP ownership and licensing, the customer isn't a party at all. Hasbro/TT would be the first party (owner). Generally a second party would be a company operating outside/independent of HasTak, but still under their license & oversight (often, the first party acts as distributor of the product). A third party is generally considered a company operating outside of the licensure and oversight of the first party. Usually third party manufacturers don't infringe on IP, but that's probably out of fear of lawsuit.

Perhaps it's time we say.. Licensed products are 0.5th Party and any unlicensed products -1st party.

One thing that slightly annoyed me about this episode, was the implication that Inferno appeared in just 2 episodes. Just like earlier comments about Tracks, this just isn't true.

I'll admit that Season 2 characters, at best, got only 1-2 episodes in which they were prominently featured. However, that isn't the same thing as saying the characters only got two episodes.

I mean, in Season 2 almost every time something got set on fire, Inferno was there to put it out. It was his thing. Pretty much his only thing.

Season 2 had a lot of that.
