No Aaron :'( And I'm gonna ignore the part where you say Optimus has no personality.. Also did I miss something 'cause last time I checked, Season 3 is going to have 16 episodes..
Even if Patch was a clip show, Prime has a real interesting way of tackling them and at least makes them entertaining.
Yeah, they integrate them well into the series. And then they keep the plot moving during the episode, not spending the entire time going over what has happened.
I don't entirely understand the discussion on Starscream's motivation for returning to the Decepticons. The parts about why would Megatron trust him and the rest, yeah that all fits just fine. It's how "out of the blue" Starscream decided he would return. It almost sounded like neither of you watched that bit where Starscream narrates to himself in... Inside Job was it? (I know that's not actually the case, just saying.) That monologue proved that Starscream was definitely in it for himself but illustrated him reaching another epiphany that he simply couldn't succeed on his own. The universe indeed hates Starscream, and so long as it does, he better not traverse it alone. It definitely could have warranted more foreshadowing in season two, hard to do when Starscream was absent for such a large chunk of it, but it felt exactly in-character with Starscream's hopeless state and paralleled the moment in Rock Bottom where he'd escaped the cave-in but knew that any action besides returning to save Megatron would be futile... that we conveniently saw among Patch's clipshow. Also, Jeremy, I'm not a Prime forum regular or out to get you for your opinions. Be gentle.
In response to the 13 episode in season 3 thing. Hasbro if you truly think about has been spending a lot of money, running the HUB and release several Shows within the past 2 years. GI JOE renegades MY LITTLE PONY TRANSFORMERS PRIME TRANSFORMERS RESCUE BOT Family GAME NIGHT Pound puppies So the reason i see for the 13 episode season 3 for both prime and pony (yes even pony is getting a shorten season 3)is so they can build back up some cash to create more of these shows. If a short season here or there means more shows in the long run. I say let them do it.
I think Starscream returning to the 'Cons was entirely based on the desire to simplify things for Beast Hunters. Prior to Patch you had Autobots, Decepticons, and Starscream. Beast Hunters introduces Predacons. At the end of the day it is a kids show, so they have to keep things from being to complex. Having four "sides" would have been a bit much, so the options were return Starscream to the Decepticons or kill him off. I'm glad they kept him around. That being said, I agree, they could have handled his wanting to return and his pitch to Megatron better.
