Alright I bought a DS a while ago and because of the wireless router i have I can't go wireless with the DS.... Alright, I finally get the balls to trade in my DS and upgrade it for a DSi (which is compatible with my router)... EVERYWHERE it says if you trade in your DS for a DSi that they will give you $70 for it. The offer ends 5/31/09. So, I go in to trade it in and the computer system wouldn't let them give me $70 for it only like $35.... THEY TRIED 3X!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF Gamestop!!!!!!!!!! I should totally complain to corporate about false advertising.
Do you have everything that came with it? All of the cables, manual, etc.? Is it in perfect condition? What did the employees say when you told them the offer was for $70, not $35, towards the DSi? The only thing in the legal copy that might be a loophole is "Trade-ins subject to manager approval."
well it's about 8 months old but it looks brand new and nothing left the manual packet.... it told the guy and he said that he could not do anything...
I'm more worried that you were trading something in to Gamestop Definitely look into the sale a bit more. See what the conditions of the deal are, because there might have been a good reason for it. What about your screens? What kind of condition are they in?
they are brand new i literally used my ds to play pokemon pearl and platinum 1 time through.... the thing is in pristine condition...
employees go by what the computer says, period. your gamestop's computer likely wasn't updated for the deal or something.
dont trade the ds lite. its better then dsi. im getting the dsi for my sister. she likes to take pics and edit stuff.
i'll just never understand why anyone would ever get anything at gamestop. gamestop sux period! btw,did they ask u to reserve madden 2020 when u walked in?
I just saw the commercial and it said $70 for a Gold DS lite. Don't know the difference between the two though...
It won't pop up until they total the transaction. It happens with all the trade in item X and get extra credit deals. Also, its a hell of a deal if you don't have or play many GBA games. Which by the sounds of it the OP didn't. It makes sense that they take advantage and upgrade for the future.
I work at Gamestop. I'm wondering if you didn't get a really inexperienced Game Advisor working on your trade. Did they total out the trade? The extra 35 bucks doesn't show up until you hit the total button. Then the promo wizard kicks in.
If there was indeed anything wrong with the computer employees cannot alter the price of a trade in. So there might have been nothing he could have done. But it probably sounds like he left out the last step of finalizing the transaction to get your REAL total. I'll have problems with my guys every once in a while where I just have to lean over and tell them to finalize after they spent the last two minutes sweating it. We all have brain farts sometimes.
I like Gamestop becasue it's pretty much the best place for used games around here, and there's like 6 of them. Bad thing is they have alot of annoying ways of compensating for poor buisness. Like always trying to get $5 out of you for a pre order. I only put up with that becasue they force them to ask us. Tell them you'll just hit Target or Best Buy or something and they'll play that same bullshit line "um , well there's going to be limited copies , gugrgurgug, they're going to sell out fast urgurgurug don't miss you're chance urgurggurgur suck my balls man jrurugrgruurg
Yeah but GS charges you 5 bucks less for used games, Game Crazy has them as low as 10-15 dollars more. Fallout and Resistance 2 were for 45 bucks like 2 weeks after their release (non member price).
