This was another very good issue imo. I like Thunderclash in this more and more. It feels like he's trying hard to raise the mood and moral while hiding his negative emotions with his shows. I think his characterization has potential and I hope the clashing with Aileron will lead to some development for him or a bit of a flashback that tells us where he's coming from. He must have participated in the war, so I wonder if he was always as superficially positive as he is right now.
Pacing, art and humor was top again and I think the team Mariotte and Lawrence does a good job at depicting chemistries between characters, especially with the Wreckers.

And I am hyped already having Xaaron in this as early as in issue 2 (albeit this time with red eyes). Considering his backstory with the Wreckers in other comics I wonder whether they have just brought him in for fun or if he will gain some relevance later. Can't wait for #3 and the race.
My only complaint about this comic would be that it feels like a story that could easily run for twice as many issues or more. Mariotte is clearly not suffering from a lack of ideas and motivation here and while I do believe that he will conclude this series properly with #4 it would work well as a longer series or a comic with sequels that would also consist of 4-5 issues each. Considering that this is the first serious case the Wreckers are confronted with it feels like an introduction arc for them.
The problem is that the ongoing is already featuring more than enough characters. I love the main series, but everytime a mini-comic ends you know its protags will most likely never get more than a panel of screentime every ten issues or so or disappear for years altogether. They wouldn't be able to tell another story of the Wreckers there unless they ignored everybody else including Megatron. That's why they had a separate trilogy dedicated to them in IDW1. Would be cool if they would do this again.

 

A Junkion might kiss if they're imitating television.

Otherwise, kissing is a biological function and makes no sense whatsoever among robots. Bad writing. Worse editing.

 

If their bodies contain a stomach like reservoir for energon, perhaps unclean (low octane?) fuel creates a system wide glitch which they find amusing. Much like Ironhide in the first bay movie.

every possible argument against it has been brought up, discussed, and refuted. Transformers are living machines they think, they feel, they love and since they love they’re going to express affection for one another and since they’re written by humans they’re going to express affection in ways humans understand. So since every possible argument against the kiss has been refuted there’s only one reason left to explain why you’d still go on about it; you don’t truly care that two robots are kissing you just care that two guys are kissing
