About a month or so ago, I picked up Wheel_Jack's Ironfist kit. I thought his color and paint choices were pretty much spot on, so I basically used his original as a guide. I didn't have all of the colors required, but I had enought to make it work. The only downfall is that I did not sand enough to compensate for the thickness of the fabric tan spray used, so in alt mode, everything doesn't join up as seamlessly as it should, but that's incredibly minor, because it would be a crime to hide W_J's work! Big thanks to Wheel_Jack for giving me a few tips on this kit before I got started, and for making such a freaking awesome kit! Enjoy! C & C are always welcome.
You know, I was determined to use this head on a classics hound figure, but seeing how nicely they can turn out I think I'll pick up a rescue Ratchet on the cheap and do this myself.
I would guess frosted ultra detail. It works best for heads I've found though with the ironfist the eyes are a very tight fit so once together it will be difficult to get out without breaking at the stalk. (as mine has but it did it at a point not noticable so it's fine with me.
Rotorstorm is right - Frosted Ultra Detail... and yes, those eyes are an amazingly tight fit. I put the two halves together to test it out and almost couldn't get them apart again. It took a micro flat head screwdriver and a lot of patience to slowly work the two halves apart again. Amazingly, mine didn't break. On a side note, thank you all for the kind words! I appreciate it!
Great job man. And thanks for picking this up and sharing your pics. Would you mind if I put one these pics up on my shapeways page?
