I thought the 2nd movie was pretty bad, but it is a godsend compared to the Age of Extinction. Waste of money, and more importantly, waste of three hours of my time.

Bay: Let's keep killing off autobots that the fans like and introduce new ones the fans don't even know!

Hasbro: Yeah okay, but don'k kill OP or Bee, because they bring us billions.

Bay: Alright, but I'll make OP extremely weak, to the point where he can't even defeat a "C" rank enemy.

Hasbro: Can you put dinobots in it? That will go over real well with marketing

Bay: I dunno WTF a dinobot is, but i'll wikipedia it.

THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS, TF AGE OF EXTINCTION, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

That's an extreme reaction. A bit much, personally.

I thought this movie was best of the four, easily.

Everyone should be allowed to vent as much as people want to praise it.

And every opinion, when publicly declared, can and will be judged.

I wasn't trying to be rude, but I do question why he had the opinion that he does, and I will disagree, and if it comes to it, debate over facts and the quality of the movie.

I gotta agree. There was a lot wrong with the movie, but it still easily trounced the original trilogy in just about every way.

To each his own. I do agree with you that it felt like a semi repeat of the the 86 film by killing off nearly all of the original cast. But lockdown, in my opinion, was the best villain we've got. Plus the new autobots had more personality this go around.

I grew up with TF like most of you, doesn't it bother you at all what they're doing in these movies? The first one, I thought was the best, the second one was all sorts of crazy and the third one was decent enough, but this latest one, there are just so many issues. Galvatron is supposed to be bad ass, not some lame "nemisis prime" wannabe. And humans created him? WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK. And where the hell are sideswipe and diego? Now OP can fight and defeat MOTHER FUCKING GRIMLOCK, but he can't defeat lockdown? If the human made transformers can change into anything they fucking want, then how in the ACTUAL FUCK can they die? In the middle of the movie they had such a hard time defeating these human made decepticons, but in the finale hound easily dispatches like 30 of them on his own. On what universe is this the best of the four??

In what Universe is Dark of the Moon any better?

    Or Revenge of the Fallen.

Actually how is it worse from the first one either?

    In my opinion
    1 is overrated,
2 is the nadir of the series,
3 showed real improvement but was bogged down by the embarassing sense of humor,
4 took the good things about 3 and brought them to the forfront, and got rid off almost every embarassing thing about the first trilogy humans. (well, almost. Cade is a bit too protective of his daughter, to the point he reacts less like a dad who discovers his daughter has a secret boyfriend and more like a husband who discovers his wife has a secret lover. yeah...)

    Not really.

For me, the first movie is in third place. Above ROTF, but below DOTM and FAR below AOE.

I don't see how he was a Nemesis Prime wannabe. For one thing, he was silver. For another thing, he didn't turn into the same kind of truck. Nemesis is black and is always an evil reflection of Optimus.

    No. HE created himself.

    Dead.

Yep. In my opinion, that's totally fine. Lockdown's badass. I'm glad he's such a tough fighter.

I assume they need a brain to transform. And various other parts. Maybe in their cube mode they can't be destroyed, but I don't see how they could turn into said cube mode if their brain or heart is on the ground.

They had a hard time, partly, because it was completely new and unexpected. That, and Galvatron actually has a brain. He's smart. Stinger is a drone. The Vehicons are all drones. They're programmed to follow orders, not be tacticians.

TFTM is still the best film of the franchise in my opinion. I would have to say that AOE is by far the second best film. It's not too hard to beat out DOTM and ROTF. What actually kills it for me is how predictable the entire formula has become.

I finally got the chance to see it and like some reviewers stated it is true that Bay can't seem to alienate his original method of story telling. His 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' approach to the whole thing has got me honestly bewildered and it shows in it's predicted domination of the market. People love the easy stuff.

Of course the film attempts to do a few things differently here and some of it actually feels honest. At the same time, the film is pretty much the same as the past three films. I shouldn't be surprised by this as this is a Michael Bay film and he has since departed from attempting to make movies for the sake of art.

One thing in particular that I've always felt insulted about in these films is his attempts at 'hand holding' when it comes down to telling how an autobot feels about something. For example, in DOTM when Optimus was pretty pissed off about something that lady had decided to do. He was in vehicle mode and Ironhide and Mirage had to basically explain to us that Optimus was pissed. Why not have Optimus transform and show us this rather than having it explained prior. It happens again in AOE when Joshua tells Optimus that the autobots aren't needed anymore to which Hound annouces "that was cruel". If Bay just left the outside commentary alone and allowed the audience to focus on Optimus' expression, Hound's quote would be unecessary.

Coming down to the final act things got pretty 'splody which is the heart of Bay's style but geez. It was really tiring. I hated that the Dinobots didn't serve any other function but to be mounts and used to terminate the lifeless KSI bots. I really wonder how the Decepticon toyline will work out...

I'm not saying that there isn't anything to like but I am way too familiar now with Bay's style to be surprised at much he throws at us. I'm on the middle with this film.

This is the worst movie I've seen this year. I haven't decided which is worse: Thi s or Revenge of the Fallen. Right now, I feel that Revenge of the Fallen has worse characters, but this one is just too long.

Age of Extinction starts out like a decent movie. I cared about the characters who died early. I cared about the new human cast. Unfortunately, Act 2 is very weak and Act 3 is even worse. The action doesn't even feel as good as Dark of the Moon's. Optimus Prime and autobot characterization:
Even more merciless than in Dark of the Moon. How many times does Optimus threaten to outright kill someone? The autobots even threaten one another several times.
The third act is so full of explosions and slow motion, that I became disinterested. The action just wasn't as engaging or interesting as in the previous movies. At least the Autobot team members actually feel like characters.

It REALLY needed a better script and some better direction.

Nope. Creating something new does nothing to diminish past works.

Way too many meatsacks in the first movie. They chewed up screen time that would've been better off focusing on hardcore robot on robot action. I really don't get why there needs to be humans in a TF movie to begin with. WFC/FOC, Beast Wars and Beast Machines didn't have any humans and remain some of the best TF lore to date.

I thought Megsy/Galvy engineered his own reincarnation.

Haven't Transformers been randomly disappearing from every movie and space between sequels?

It does appear Grimlock has a bit of a glass jaw.

That's the question isn't it? Why do they even need solid forms if they can function and move about in their ethereal transition state? If the director and writers were more enthusiastic the new Earthformers could moved and behaved like the ghost twins from the second Matrix movie.

That's the craziest part. It just goes to show how shitty the other three films were.
