Wouldn't this make for a lovely Ultra Magnus?

Eh. Magnus is like the hamburger to Optimus' steak. Car carriers are a rotten way to build exo armor, anyway, due to being so darn spindly. If you want anything with substance, it'd be best to give him a normal trailer and have that turn into something more substantial, or even better do something like MotorMaster and have the trailer be a part of the whole bot.

With a movie style Magnus, they wouldn't need it to be a ful G1-esque exo suit. Just having the carrier overlap onto the main robot would give it a great armored look as well as making it much different then Prime. But then again, even if they did use Magnus, I can't see them using the exact same design as Prime.

Either way, this one would be perfect to use.

Magnus would need red flames to complete the red/white/blue look.

    :p

Could work! Bet the armour created by that spindly blue trailer would draw a lot of flak from certain quarters though!

They can simply use an extended cab version of Prime.

Or a big rig tow truck version...

If they're going with realism and seriousness for the movie segment, I doubt we'll ever see character repaints IN the movie. Same as Megatron turning into Galvatron.

But that's the best part about the new live-action TFs; they can pull the metal together and rearrange it any way they need the mass.

Hmm, gestalt componenents transported by carrier which in turn becomes the frame for something like Bruticus, in which the vehicles are anchored by the frame. I like it! :thumb
