"You betrayed yourself!" "This is for Ironhide.. "BOOM!"
Lazerwave made a thread that made want to post a similar thread.

It was kind of sad that Optimus didn't mention Ironhide at all, so I figured this scene would have been perfect for it.

I don't think it would have been appropriate for Optimus to say something like "This is for Ironhide!" when killing Sentinel; it would have reduced the act to a mere act of revenge, which would have truly been out of character for Optimus.

No. Killing Sentinel was a personal score. He did it because he felt it needed to be done, because Sentinel was capable of such malice and disregard for humaity. That line makes it about Ironhide and completely nerfs the entire ending. That line just makes him out to be vindictive rather than a solum warrior.

I find it funny how nobody seemed to mention Ironhide's death.

I would rather him actually saying you are relieved of duty instead.

Probably because it meant about as much as Jazz's death- if not less.

    This
I Think it Would Make Optimus Sound Vengeful too
When He Killed Sentinel Because he Had To
I wouldn't Care if Another Autobot said it in the Movie though Maybe Sideswipe :)

He had to? Sentinel was defeated and broken. Cybertron was destroyed. Sentinel had no more motivation. I think it would have been better if he had been locked up somehow. That way, Sentinel can spend the rest of his miserable existence reflecting on his betrayal and how he failed Cybertron.

Locked up for the rest of his life? That would have been hundreds of thousands of years.

Well, at least for Jazz' death, they MENTIONED him, and Optimus even uttered "awwh, Jazz."

Yea, but there was one thing I hated about what Optimus says in that scene. He says, "We lost a good comrade, but gained new ones." He is practically saying that it's okay that Jazz died because they've got new friends to replace him. I really hated that.

The Xantium launchpad scene between Optimus and Sam would have been a good time to mention Ironhide, in my opinion anyway.

Either that or something involving Lennox.

His spark could have been removed and secured. Same as was done for the Combaticons in G1, or Arcee and Monstructor in IDW.

    Not at all.

Though I would support an edited version of the films where the entirety of Prime's dialogue is replaced with bloodcurdling howls and growling.

Indeed. TFs aren't the immortal lego-based Gods they are in other fiction in the movies. You can't just take them apart and leave them alive.
