I also prefer the Hasbro Megatron. I got most of the Classics already so no need to rebuy them, Ill save that money for some G1 goodies.

I am only getting the ones that are needed like Megs, Screamer, and Astrotrain.

The Japanese Classics got a bit of my money, but more or less by default. I bought their version of Prime solely since I need an extra for my Prime vs. Megatron display, I bought their version of Bumblebee for my Alternators display since it's a bit different from the Hasbro version and won't look as redundant, and I bought their version of Megatron simply since it looks better than Hasbro's green & purple NERF version. I think the color scheme of Hasbro's Megatron looks decent enough, just not on Megatron.

The only other Japanese version of a Classics character that I'd re-buy would be Cliffjumper (for the same reasons as Bumblebee) and perhaps Universe Powerglide if they ever release it - which if they did - I assume would be correctly colored.

I got a couple of screamers. I think a combination of the japanese head and weapons and maybe canopy if it's different with the US version may work out well. I'll see once it comes in.

Prime only looks slightly better, while Megs is a huge improvement. Since I have the MP versions I dont need either. I would have gotten Screamer if he were a vast improvement, but he's only gotten the reprolabel treament which isnt worth the hassle of selling my old figure.

If they do a better looking Magnus I might bite. But otherwise, more goodness for the Japanese.

The oly one thats tempting is Megatron, but I doublt I'll even get that anytime soon. The Japanese editions are totally boring. Plus I already bought Hasbro's Classics line twice over, so no need for a third set.

Heh, it didn't take much actually. I pre-ordered them all. I loved Hasbro's Classics just fine. Takara improved on nearly all of them though. At least with me upgrading I can pass on the Hasbro versions to my friend who wants them. I don't feel like I wasted anything there. Although Prime and Megs are a touch pricey for what they are.

Only one worth getting again for me is the takara Megatron. Maybe Astrotrain if they fix the color on the arm guards.

Pre-ordered Megs, Starscream and (presumed anime) Astrotrain, all of which have superior paint jobs than Hasbro, IMO. All the Autobots either don't look different enough or look worse than their Hasbro counterparts.

Besides, I was shooting for a MIB and loose set of U.S. Classics and never got around to a second Megs or Astrotrain. This conveniently solves that problem, as the Japanese packaging is uncharacteristically lame and will be opened and tossed.

Megs and Astrotrain definitely. I'm almost willing to pick them all up for the simple fact that I display my figs loose, and since the 2.0 line doesn't have rubbie symbols, they seem a bit out of place. Alas, it also depends on price. I can say without a DOUBT that if they do the Botcon seekers in any way shape or form, I'll snag them in a heartbeat, even if Thrust DOES have the same wings as Ramjet.

Which would only leave scouring ebay for Bugbite and Dreadwind, who both usually go for pretty cheap. And whatever Classics repaints are done in any of the newer Botcon sets.

I want to replace my broken Rodimus and maybe Starscream as mine has a horrible paint application on his face. Though I'll wait and see if I can get them on sale.

Classics is an excellent line, but I am not attached enough to get excited over the different paint.

Megatron and Astrotrain tempt me. Mirage looks nice in robot mode, but I prefer Hasbro's vehicle mode. I'm pretty happy with the ones I have so I doubt I will buy them again, short of them being redecoed and remolded as new characters.
