I've often thought of this since Garatron is making a Beast Wars Neo Unicron; that it would be cool to have a Unicron made in the style of the unmade G1 prototype. Terrible design and everything just to have a "vintage" Unicron. Would anyone else buy one?

I'd imagine it wouldn't even be massively exspensive (compared to other 3rd party prices) as there would only be so many moving parts.

Yes but only if in scale with MP10.

I would only buy Unicorn if :
    0: Transformable
1: as close as possible to the G1 likeness
    2: wasn't excessively tall (60cm max)
Since it would just take up too much room if it was any larger.

He's one of my (many) holy grails since there has been no true G1 versions of him ever made. I know there are the armada and repaints and reissues and more repaints, but that's got wings man !!!
Unicron had no wings and he had a collar, those dragon like wings and 4 toes, of that's what you'd call them !!
G1 modernized for a true Unicron and I'm in !!

I mean a straight up copy of this design. Close as possible and no modern engineering for improvements to the design.

Yep, I know.. I should have added that in my post.
I wouldn't buy that vintage design if a 3rd party made it now.

I want one that looks like my statue of him...one that's like this but can transform. As it is, this is my stand in right now in my display (not my picture but same one I have). This size would do nicely:

I have the statue as well and would love an animation accurate MP figure but the vintage collector in me would like an old style figure.

Only if Hasbro made it. I wouldn't want something so hideous at 3rd party prices.

No I don't think I could part with actual money in exchange for this. I doesn't look anything like his move counterpart.

Nice for nostalgia sake, but no, i wouldn't buy it.

I would however buy the shit out of a MP Unicron - as in, the true concept of MP which is to capture the toy \ character \ film \ cartoon and overall feeling of a character, not in the 'MP scale' which means it has to be scaled with MP-10 in mind (don't have a spare warehouse to store it!!! :p )

That statue is ace - what it's actually called \ who's it made by? Might have a look on ebay for one!

I'd buy a golf ball-sized WSTF version of that particular G1 Unicron without a second thought, though.

I'd consider it. Would rather buy a G1 Arcee based on that one prototype though. Now that's a gap I actually want filled.

Only if I had literally everything else and that was somehow a requirement to complete a collection.

I would, just because I think it's so bad looking that I would love to have it.

If I was a hardcore G1 toy collector (which I'm not), maybe.

Not really interested in MP Unicron either. Too big and expensive.

I would want it for the nostalgia and that it is a piece of transformer history. I would love to have one in my collection.
