Yeah, in Animated.
There you go, a character was changed from man to woman to man again and it was so irrelevant to the series that nobody ever talks about it.
Gender swapping is lazy, I hope they do away with it entirely. So yeah, switch them back.
if the writing is great and enjoyable for all ages. I dont give a scrap what gender the bots are,
If there’s ever an official genderswapped Optimus I want a genderswapped Elita-1.
Clobber is functionally an entirely separate character despite looking like Lugnut, I wouldn't count her as genderswap at this point.
Does anyone even care whether Nova and Acid Storm are male, female, or genderfluid? It's not like they have any relevant fiction defining them.
I don't care either way what they do with Cosmos if the character is ever used in animation again, and Skywarp never even spoke - you wouldn't know Skywarp was genderswapped if it weren't for crew statements and having the "female seeker" head.
Personally, I'd rather they just have characters that happen to share names, male or female, it doesn't matter. "Prowl? No, no, you're thinking of the other guy - I'm not that Prowl."
That's the way to do it!
What about the whole "Megaempress" situation?
Honestly do not care, as long as the characters are well written. If it's a new continuity, who cares, new rules. If it's an old one, maybe a quick explanation or something and move on.
Techniclly she isn't a result of Gender Swapping, but she was created from parts of Megatron. But I wouldn't mind if she was used more in other stories (honestly when it was said the PM was locked up in IDW2 and Trickdiamond showed up I thought that was what would happen).
But what if Megaempress was basically using Megatron's name way after he died? Something like THIS? (Art by Tyrranux of DeviantART)
Separate names with a comma.
