Would you be more willing to buy the Star Wars TFs if they were $10.00?

Despite the varied critacism of the STar Wars TF line, I've noticed one common theme; despite the many flaws, people have been saying that they'd get them anyway if they were $10 instead of $15.

Is that the general concensus? Obviously everyone would be more willing to buy anything the cheaper you sell it for, but do you think the SW TFs would have more fan support behind them if they were $10 instead of $15?

Not really. For $10, I might pick up one every so often if the 'bot mode was halfway decent. Nothing we've seen as of yet would qualify, though. I bought Vader as an experiment because I thought he looked the best...and I'm certainly not paying $15 for any more based on my opinion of him.

Actually the price isn't an issue for me, it's the molds. The alt modes, in general, look pretty good, but for the most parts the robots leave something to be desired. I'll probably still pick up a couple that suit my fancy, but I'm not enamored by them.

A $5 difference in price wouldn't make much of a difference to me. A roughly analogous increase in toy design quality would, however.

No, the toys are incredibly unappealing to me. The robot modes look so lame in my opinion. I'd only be interested if they a)had really cool robot modes, or more importantly b)cool robot modes that do more to tie the TF/SW properties together rather than just sticking the TF logo on the toy for the gimmick, i.e. TF characters. For me, as it stands, these things are only as deserving of having that logo on them as Animorphs were. This is despite that I'm a big SW fan as well as TFs.

I wouldn't. $5 doesn't make much of a difference when the toy is still butt ugly to me.

They are ugly. No way I would spend any amount of money on them. I wouldn't even take a freebe.

They are bad figures. Period. However the size and the feel of the figures feels along the lines of a $10 deluxe.

I still have no interest in this garbage, and I regret buying Vader.

No, I wouldn't buy them if they were $5 cheaper. My reasoning isn't the price point, but the fact that they are simply bad figures to begin with. I bought Vader and Grevious to try them out... I took them back almost immediatly. They just aren't that great. Not only are the designs bad, but they cost too much... they're more like $10 figures, however, making them $10 wouldn't make me want to buy them anymore.

No, the only thing that would make me want them is a dramatic increase in design of these things. First, I think that they have the same problem as Marvel's Megamorphs... IE: they either have a cool robot mode or a cool vehicle mode, but never both. With SWTFs it's been predominantly that they have cool vehicle modes, but their robot modes tend to suffer.

To elaborate on the crapieness of the SWTFs robot modes I'd say the biggest thing that makes them horrid is that, like the Marvel Megamorphs, they have the whole tiny pilot character gimmick going on and that means that the cockpit can't move or if it moves it doesn't move much. It makes the SWTFs look overweight. I feel that if they were to stop making the cockpits centrifical on the robot modes, as they have been, they would be a little better as figures.

The other thing that turns me off is that the arms and legs are spindly as hell. I really can't think of anyway that they could fix this problem, with the exception of the above. I think the whole, immovable cockpits thing, makes them really bad design wise.

As for the arguement that they need to be based off of SW vehicles with TF characters. Yeah, that might help the sales overall, but it seems more apparent that the overall problem with these guys is the designs in general. I think a Tie Fighter Vader is a cool idea, but the way it was executed leaves alot to be desired.

Possibly, but i'd have to really like the mold..

To me they are just plain bad. The alt modes are excellent but the bot modes suck. If they were clearanced at $7 i might get 1 or two, but still doubtful.

Maybe if they GAVE me 10 dollars for taking one, I'd consider getting one. Shelf space is at a premium at my house and no way am I making room for those fugly things.

No, there's plenty of other TFs stuff I can buy. The SW TFs don't appeal to me at all. If I could get one for free, I might check it out. If the bot modes were really cool, I would probably pick at least one of them up. Right now, they are not worth any amount of money to me.

I might pick up Vader or Grevious IF it's at $5 on clearance. I was actually thinking of getting them but after reading all the feedback I decided against it. I have no problem with $15 if it's well designed and look good in both modes. I buy a lot of Sigma 6 figures at $15 so price isn't the issue, it's the toys themselves.

    $5 isn't enough of a difference.

A bottle of jack daniels, then I might consider it. It would take that or magic glasses to get me to buy them.

well said. if thy just looked more like mecha/robots less like a SW action figure wearing parts of their vehicle mode like a card board suit, i'd be OK with it.

I'm still trying to figure out why they thought a random uber-fanboy dream was a good idea to turn into reality.

Personally, if an item just isn't good enough, it just isn't good enough. You could clearance them to $5.00 and I wouldn't buy them. They lack imagination really. Vader becomes a Tie-Fighter, Luke becomes an X-Wing, etc. Yes...I do realize they must tie into their vehicles and so on, but wasn't there a better way to incorporate the two? Seriously.

Perhaps a good idea, perhaps...terrible execution though.
