His personality, like most TFs, was defined by the original tech spec profiles that were written for them at the time they were created. Ramjet, just like Starscream, Bumblebee, Jazz, etc all had defined and specific personalities and traits.

Not only does Spotlight Ramjet not reflect that, he is in fact, exactly the polar opposite of his original character concept.

err, actually given the Ramjet example, no... not at all. By the logic you've presented any one of the other divergences from G1 canon I mention should be wholly excusable.
