Like what if we followed another team that left Cybertron. The leader could be Ultra Magnus (he could still be the Wreckers Leader) and they land in another country (if it's even set on Earth) and perhaps Ultra Magnus is botnapped by the government in that country because let's say he was in stasis so the second in command let's say "Hot Rod" has to lead the inexperienced team of Autobots on their first real mission.

UM could unfortuantely die (a price of war) and Optimus who would finally find the team at the end with NEST (since the American government would have detected new bots on Earth) would grant Hot Rod the title of Prime so he could lead this second team of Autobots.

This is only off the top of my head.

 

Yes as long as Ratchet/BB/Dino/Sideswipe are also present.

 

That sounds like it could be a great idea if they do it right.

 

Nah, the general movie-going public would be confused if a sequel featured a whole new cast of characters.

 

Oh yeah. The first team of Autobots rendezvous with the second team. The neat thing about this idea is that now the focus are on Transformers (albeit a new set) but their backup are other Transformers. Because this is set in another country the American military can't be as present as before because there's no way another country will allow a foreign military on their soil.

Because the Transformers to are a foreign power then the element of robots in disguise will be more heavily focused too.

 

Maybe but with the right writing it could be explain couldn't it? Say for example Optimus or Magnus narrated at the beginning to explain things.

 

No, if Optimus is Not Leader, or is not in it then I won't Watch it,
And he can't give the Title of Prime because It's
not a Rank, Primes are Born, but I wouldn't mind seeing
Ultra Magnus Lead the wreckers maybe he could keep
them from getting into to much trouble

So, using the 86' movie as a base reference, Hotrod IS a Prime already since he became Rodimus Prime... so would you say that he was born and destined to be a Prime one day? Though I do agree OP wouldn't bestow the title of "Prime" on him. Prime would have to be killed before someone can take his place at this point...

 

I like the idea.....But only a Movie-Verse Wreck-Gar is in it...

That's pretty much what I want for a sequel/new trilogy. Same universe, but maybe takes place some time in the future with a different team.

 

That's not gonna happen. Producers will always aim for what's sure. And that means that the classic and best known characters will always be in the movies.

No chance of getting a movie without friggin' Optimus Prime and Megatron.

 

This....I mean you could add Hot Rod as a member...I won't get mad....But if he's the leader OR becames the leader later on.....I'm killing my cat....

I don't care about Hot Rod(or Rodimus as Hasbro calls him now)...I was talking about RODIMUS PRIME!!!!!...I just don't like that some random guy becames the leader...for some random reason.

And you know I'm not going to kill my cat...I love my cat to death..I would just be VERY,VERY mad if Rodimus Prime is in the Movie-verse.

 

It could be done. At the start of the film have Optimus narrate that other Autobots continue to arrive on Earth and as a result of Decepticon activity by a rising upstart, they have outposts around the world. In the first scene you have Optimus talking to a new group of Autobots on a screen telling them they will rendezvous with them shortly....and we take it from there with the new group.
