i never got a chance to read the comics, but i have read wikipedia and a few other sources and his story, IMO would make for an awesome TV series. I especially would like the idea of taking his moments where he talks to his little square thought boxes in te comic or where he breaks the fourth wall. and for added fun (and a way to make YOU sit through commercials) have him randomly appear in them, as though he is running through them to get to the next scene, escaping a villain or for shits and grins, maybe catching a football someone from the fourth wall had thrown at him.
Or, like that old commercial where the roach is crawling across the TV screen as the bug man sprays it, He looks into the TV, and then starts playing with the picture settings before telling you that your contrast is off by "this much," before resuming his mission.

I suppose that it would be better suited for HBO or Showtime because of his mouth and what may come out of it, but with no commercials, it would kinda ruin that running gag.

lastly, to have him do "viewer mail" segments like 4 or 5 times during a 26 episode season would be great, even if all he does is bitch at the producer or a director for giving him such insipid fan letters.

all of that aside, i think in an hour long show there could still be enough action for fans to be pleased.

so, whadya think? would it work for you to see Deadpool as a Dramedy on Television?

I love the idea. Kinda reminds me of the Bernie Mac show.

It would be fun though if he gets fan mail from other Marvel superheroes or villains. Comedy ensues.

Imagine if he gets mail from Bob, Agent of Hydra! Heck, Bob should be the supporting cast member!

I don't think most viewers would get it.

cartoon for adultswim or something? yes that'd work

but as live action tv show, no i do not see it working at all.

that goes for almost any comic/super hero based story.

they work well as animation, but not well as live action tv shows. heck, they could barely do it decently with a high budget action movie, :lol

They should do a one hour TV show based on the comics which has Cable and Deadpool while the other half with Luke Cage and Iron Fist and then have crossovers every four or so episodes.

I suppose you are right, considering this list of live-action FAIL:
    The Flash
    The Tick
    Birds of Prey
    Greatest American Hero

so AS could make it work, as they have been able to do with Venture Bros.

    "I smell sitcom!"

I love Deadpool. I'd watch it. But it would definately be a cable thing (that's cable not Cable). Animation would probabaly be better, but if a network like Showtime sponsored it they could pull off some cool live action too maybe. If Reynolds is too busy for a series what about that guy from Middleman for Wade? He could denfinately pull off the rapid fire talking and deadpan dialogue.

Deadpool? No. But Deadpool with Agency X? Now THAT has potential. You'd also have a few more characters to have fun with and prevent things from going stale, as well.

I only see it airing on Adult Swim. No other time slots would work. Unless they butcher the character by *gasp* censoring him!

I would love to see a Cable and Deadpool cartoon adaption.
