I was wondering if an over the top TF show would work like one punch man or kill la kill ( idk the name of the anime) would work though?

 

A Transformers Anime by Trigger would be the greatest thing to happen to this Franchise in a long time, especially given how the offerings at the moment are kinda slim and dull.

They're fans of Transformers as well, which also helps a lot.

 

if they could pull it off, then of course...
it's time the franchise stop being overly dark and edgy and embrace its wackier roots.
over the top giant mecha battles? heck yeah!!!

 

Cyberverse has been interesting in keeping most of the edgier concepts at bay (but occasionally allowing the ideas of genocide and war weariness peek through). It seems to be having fun the same way you would if you were a kid and was having a giant battle on your bedroom floor. I just wish the animation and dialogue were a bit better. if you haven't given it a try, I strongly suggest it. You just have to suffer through the first half of Season One to get to the good stuff.

 

yeah, i watched season 1 and half of season 2...which was where i stopped. the story felt a little dull to me at that point and i was not sold on the characters or the plot, so i just...stopped. i liked the light hearted tone though.
maybe i should watch season 3

 

The last four or so stories of Season 2 are mostly concerned with the Autobots having adventures in space on the way to Cybertron. There's Sharkticons and Fuzor referencing. And, I never thought I'd ever type this, a little Grimlock and Arcee shipping...

Let's actually have another Transformers show like Transformers that isn't shit before we start aping other popular series that have nothing to do with the Transformers formula.

the japanese masterforece series has "optimus" beat enemies with karate and ki blasts if thats what you want, but people in these boards seem to hate it for some reason

Imagine if Trigger make a TF show and put SSSS.Gridman reference in there, like how SSSS.Gridman reference Transformers in their anime...

Nothing really obvious, just subtle placement here and there, I think there's article too on seibertron...

 

Its usually always the same - people basically wanting to ape other successful media of the exact moment whenever things don't go well for Transformers.

Like, after TLK proved to be an immediate flop, there were scores of threads asking about new directors, if the rating should be bumped up to R, stuff like that.

 

Nah, if you're going to make a TF show something like something not at all like Transformers, at least go way further then that.

If you're going to jump the shark, jump the shark! Don't go half way.

Make it Transformers, Fist Of The North Star. Where Optimus Prime makes every Decepticon's body explode for some reason.

So the story of a Cybertroinin that is strong enough to punch out Unicron but no one knows who he is? The could work, maybe not for a full series but maybe a mini-series.
A Trigger made Transofmer series is something I'd love to see, sure it's not everyone's preference but I do love super robots
