would a payload game mode work?

    those that play TF2 will know what i'm talking about but i was thinking about a payload type of game for FOC. the cart/bomb would be like what was in Cliffjumper's level. we could have a race mode and an offence/defense mode. what do you guys think?

    Sounds to me like it could work. It sounds like a team based game and I think we need more of those in TF games.

    Yes, of course it would work but it will not happen EVER for FOC at least.

    I think we need less. Everything in WFC/FOC is team based except for Death Match and nobody ever plays that. I have no clue what the big fuss about team work and friendship is. I find that team mates usually either are useless or kill enemies you did most the work on.

    However despite wanting less team based game modes, I think the OP's idea sounds cool. Although I don't know how well it would work. It would have to be a very durable payload.

    I wish there was a free-for-all mode in Multiplayer, where EVERYONE is your enemy.

    You don't destroy the payload. The game mode in TF2 is really easy.

    Basically, the Offensive team has 2 minutes to get the Payload to a checkpoint. When the payload reaches the checkpoint, it opens up the next part of the stage and the offensive team gets additional time added on to whatever they have left. Payload maps typically have 3-4 checkpoints, and the objective is to get the payload to the very last one.

    The payload moves when there are team mates touching it. After a certain time after it stops moving, the payload cart moves backwards slowly. In TF2, being around the payload gives you the benefit of being around a Dispenser...you get your health and your ammo refilled.

    The Defensive team has only one goal...and that's to stop the payload from reaching the last checkpoint. Win or lose, at the end of the round the teams swap, so defenders become attackers, and attackers become defenders.

    That's pretty much it. Payload is a pretty fun game mode in TF2. One of my faves.

    There's a variation of Payload in TF2 called Payload Race. Each team has their own Payload cart, and the objective is to be the first to push their payload cart to the goal. LOTS of killing and cart pushing in this mode. Lots of fun too.

    Oh, Ok then. That sounds fun. I wish people still played ROTF online. I have the game but I bought it so recently that I've been unable to find more than a couple of multiplayer matches.

    Well TDM is usually run off and do your own thing. Maybe I am just seeing a lack of teamwork in game.

    No. The majority of people who play WFC/FOC seem to have a difficult time focusing on one objective. They would probably pay more attention to killing eachother than pushing the cart. (And in no way shape or form am I referring to ANYONE on the boards. I'm mostly talking about the kids)
