Hey everyone i wanted to talk about what your worst transformers toy experience was. This includes breaking while mid transformation as well as opening something and already have it broken. Even when trying to fix one of your transformers only to run into a bigger problem. I thought this would be an interesting topic because my worst experience with a transformers toy so far was g2 slingshot crumbling in my hands after transforming it right

 

My two-year old daughter chewing off one of Backfiery's antennae about 30 seconds after I bought it. In the end I had to laugh.

 

Animated Swindle's elbow ball joint breaking six months after I got him, and not being able to find a cheap replacement.  

...until I managed to find one at a Target.  

 

The day the plastic crumbled on my Beast Wars Transmetal Megatron. It was my favorite figure that I had transformed countless times.

 

Opening TFC Structor and finding a huge crack on his backpack. Very frustrating, but thankful BBTS replaced him without any issues.

 

Last year when I bought a MOSC Universe Smokescreen for a great deal only to have the fucking arm break off at the shoulder pin mid transformation. I already owned a Prowl at that point, so it wasn't like I wasn't aware of the doors popping off, but come on    

 

Taking FP's munitioner's leg off the ball joint to put glue on the ball to make it less loose, only to have the whole thing break off! Luckily I had Warcry (junked) and did a pelvis transplant on him.

 

Either opening MP11 Starscream after flying back to England, and finding the right wing didn't have the red and white stripe paint app, or opening TRU Thundercracker, and finding out the landing gear wheel had detached :'(
Damn that mold.

 

Joining the TFW2005 boards and finding out how many TF fans are absolutely crazy.  

 

Begrudgingly accepting that there were some movie toys that weren't terrible, and then only picking up the deluxe three pack of Brawl, Jazz and abstract meteor Prime.

Those fffucking arm tabs!

 

Yeah, that was a sad day for me too. I really loved that figure!

 

I've had four: Getting Battle Blade Bumblebee (one of my most sought after ROTF toys) only to find that the front of the car was a different shade than the rest. I didn't play with him for months until i managed to find another in the store. I bought it, swapped the chest piece and returned the second resealed. Now he remains one of my favorite figures.

Getting my Battle Blades Optimus from HTS only to find he had damage on the clip that holds his gas tank (it still holds) and that his leg doesn't peg right.

Another HTS one was WFC Bee having damage on the hinge of his ankle and my attempts to repair only made it worse. Only I can see it, but still bugs me.

But the WORST was Jetfire from ROTF. I bought him half off after he spent a year on the shelf. As such, getting him into jet mode the first time took an hour due to the joints and hinges being dry and I cut my hands up on the wings. Still makes me nervous transforming him so I tend to leave him in robot mode.

 

I don't really know my worst experience, I think.

One I do remember was finally buying Animated Voyager Megatron, way at the end of the line. Didn't really want that, not a good toy at all, but it seemed it was at discount so I thought why not.

Turned out the price was a mistake, it was still regular price and the toy was just misplaced on a shelf with a different label. The cashier asked if I still wanted to buy it and I took it anyway.

Then I came home and found out his face was unpainted. Doh.

 

My worst Transformers experience bar none was Buying ROTF Supreme Devastator (returned him the very next morning) :/

....and another was the THING that is FOC Bruticus (retail version) (returned him 3 days after purchase) :/

 

Okay, I'll actually bite.

My worst experience was when a friend of mine who distrusts eBay gave me a huge box of his old TFs to sell through my account. This was a pretty impressive mix, mostly RiD, Armada/Energon/Cybertron, and Movie-era toys. And though he told me I could keep what I wanted out of it, I convinced myself to sell most of them.

Looking back, there are a few I really wish I hadn't. Especially that RiD Megatron. But I wouldn't really lament it until over a year after the fact, when I was hit in the face with how good some of those toys were.

 

I dunno, I might've been pretty miffed when the frikkin' giant missile peg on the Predator Stalker snapped off - but this was so long ago I can't remember how I felt. Considering how much of the damn thing was already broken by the time that happened, I can only imagine my reaction being in the lines of "well, so much for that then".

The worst Transformers experience I can actually remember is probably watching Victory for the first time and realizing that fanboys are actually full of shit.

 

I had managed to pick up all the G1 Terrorcons at TFCon for a a few bucks here and there. High point was me buying a Hun-Grrr with all the Abominus pieces. I took them all home, and turned them into Abominus. He looked good to me, but I thought that Sinnertwin would look better as an arm.
I shifted his head down to switch him to arm mode, and his head snapped off. Apparently I was the only one in the world that wasn't aware he has a design flaw, where if you try to make him an arm, his head, without fail, will break.
Disappointed in the toy and myself, I began disassembling the combiner, and then without warning, one of his feet posts snapped off still connected to Rippersnapper (he was filling in for Sinnertwin as the leg).
It turns out, upon further inspection, the guy who sold me the Abominus parts actually sold me KO ones out of one of those phoney gift sets.

It wasn't till years later, that a friend of mine in the states managed to track down a new Sinnertwin for me, and I was able to pick up real hands, feet and chest shield for Abominus. I still use the head and the rifle from the KO set I was sold.

I never found the guy who swindled me, but if I ever did, there would be words exchanged, I tell you.

 

About 10 years ago my mom threw away my G1 Shickwave I had just gotten from eBay. My nephew had tried transforming him but stopped mid way and left it on the table. Mom came buy and thought it was a broken toy and tossed it. Sigh.

 

The day i bought Universe Galvatron after passing on him three times previously.

Total pile of slag.
