Not exactly a repack but I think this is the right thread for it.

i think that's cool. they're doing more to make people aware of the issue than hasbro is.

A part of me wants to say this was done by a bro, but he’s defacing property that is not his over an issue that while a myassembly, doesn’t not bother how the figure functions. Nobody is going to buy that now, and it will have to be counted as a loss by the store. He might as well have stole it.

I did the same thing, only without writing the message on the box.

yeah a sticky note would be better, but this sends a more direct message, i guess? i'm not trying to be the joker about toys, but hasbro should address the issue lol

Not really a repack, but something still worth mentioning

Was at a Walmart buying groceries and at the checkout I saw a shopping cart full of electronics, toys and even a bunch of transformers, the store associate said someone tried to steal all of these and got caught. It's funny to think some dude decided it would be a good idea to walk out of the store with all of these toys in front of the store associate and receipt checkers. Either we have a scalper or a really stupid thief.

I had a friend that was really good at stealing. When I threw a party in college, he showed up with 20 cases of beers. I asked how he was able to afford it? He said he went into the grocery store, put 20 cases of beers in his cart, then rolled past the check out. I asked if they did anything, to which he said some looked at him and he just smiled. This was way before self checkout was a thing. They were confused because they didn't think anyone would be so brazen so didn't stop him. It wasn't the 1st time he did this either.

I like to think they assumed he already paid or he was the beer distributor guy taking back bad beer etc. Point being, it can work if you know how to steal. I'm too chickenshit to try it myself and because morals.

It’s gotten more brazen in the last couple of years. I often see stories like that in the local news. Just today, they finally caught a guy that’s done it over ten times at different Macy’s.

It's worse than that. Store employees are usually not allowed to stop shoplifters because of liability.

As a store employee, I can 100% confirm this. Companies are held liable if anything happens to employees, so they would rather tolerate petty theft as opposed to an injured or murdered employee.

My first job as a teen was working at Target. Their policy with shoplifting was to not confront or follow shoplifters, but instead to notify the loss prevention department (aka security) and to leave chasing thieves to the police. You would get fired for breaking these rules.

I remember they had color codes for certain situations. Red was a fire. Yellow for a lost child. Black for theft.

Looks like he took the spider legs off and didn't even replace them with the black ones.

I'm trying to question whatever this is supposed to be. I mean, I know what it is, but why? You're repacking an exclusive in an $80 pack in a Deluxe box, at this point I think you're LOSING money.

They probably bought the boxset version by itself for the sole purpose of swapping the spider legs.

When people say that no-plastic packaging will lead to more damages/theft, I look at shit like this. People will do whatever they want regardless it seems.

Not TF, but some asshole in my local Walmart keeps ripping open the small LEGO bags of the same set just to steal the monkey figure. I always see the scattered pieces every time I go. I know they’re not the same pieces because they’re on different parts of the shelves each time.
