How was he a named goon again? You people do realise it was all still Bane's plan to take over Gotham, which he still did himself, right? How is that a goon? Scarecrow was the worse. Scarecrow was a joke villain. Never a threat, never even scary.
Yea but that's Scarecrow's character in general. He's always been kind of a joke villian. I just wish Bane had a different mask. God I could never see past that horrible design. Literally any other design I probably would have loved the character, but as it was, ugh.
So evolution and improvement is automatically out of the question? I don't get what was wrong with the mask. It was a mask. It served it's purpose. Covered the face, left the eyes exposed as needed and had vague skull-like aethetics. I don't see what was wrong with it. Certainly a cut above a stupid wrestler mask.
Sometimes, you've got to wish you could send people a typed transcript of the dialogue to help clear things up for them. Maybe have the director visit their home.
Talia Al Ghul was very little more than a walking plot twist who did nothing but take away Bane's thunder at the very last moment. The entire movie actually could have gone by and be finished without her.
That's what did it. He may have come up with the mechanics for the scheme, but he wasn't the overall force behind it. It completely castrated his character. His blink and you'll miss it death certainly didn't help either.
But that's Bane's mask. That's the character. The wrestler mask IS Bane. Can we remove Batman's mask and put a weird gas mask instead, I mean, same principle right? Evolution and improvement, as you say.
Actually yeah If I could go back I'd vote this. Atleast I liked Scarecrow's role in the TDKR as the judge.
I voted for Bane Tom Hardy is definitely a talented actor, i loved the guy in Warrior & Inception but this version of Bane just didn't sit right with me. I couldn't understand his voice at times, thanks to the mask... his lackluster appearence & his really lame death scene. It took all the fire from a great actor & a once great character imo.
I think all of them were handled exceptionally well. However, the most disappointing one was Bane, IMO. I was so pumped to see him on the big screen. Unlike most people, I actually love his mask, has voice, etc, but I was just hoping he'd be a little...stronger. We saw some of his brute strength when he punched up that pillar in the last fight, but I wanted to see more of his inhuman strength. EDIT: Forgot about Talia. Man, I didn't like her at all. I agree with this. And here's the main reason. This, so much. She took so much thunder away from Bane.
The Bane that was in the film could have been played by anyone; I think Tom Hardy's talents were wasted here.
The only thing about TDKR was that they hyped it up to be the best movie ever. I kept waiting for the "AHhhhhhhhh that's awesome moment" and it never came. Everything in the preview was everything in the movie. I wanted Bane to become even crazier than he was when he first entered into the movie...and then..he was just the same. A tough guy. I actually think the inclusion of Talia made it at least somewhat interesting at the end. (it's still a great movie though)
Agreed on that. I kept wondering if she was who I thought she was throughout the film. I think my biggest complaint about Bane is due to my memory of seeing the Joker's character in the second film. Every move the Joker made I was totally blown away. I made the mistake of expecting that with Bane, and I was disappointed.
