Exactly. I grew up watching the Muppet Show and I'm a big fan of Jim Henson's work (Labyrinth is another of my favorite movies), so it's like perfect for me. But like you said, there's people who just don't like puppets...

...and those people have no soul.
    :p

I totally agree. The original Tron is also one of my favorite movies despite its flaws (it's the movie that got me into computer graphics), and I was afraid Tron Legacy would turn out to be a disaster. But, I enjoy it immensely, even though like the original it is flawed and requires some leaps of logic (when she's brought into the real world, where do Quorra's clothes come from? And for that matter, why do Sam's clothes reappear at the end when there's a whole earlier scene devoted to them being removed? :D )

Tron Legacy and Scott Pilgrim vs The World are probably my 2 favorite modern movies.

Very Bad Things (1998). This movie was one of the many that rode the dark comedy bandwagon in the 1990s, and it's one film that induces a splitting headache. It just tries too hard to outdo Quentin Tarantino's works by amping up the ultraviolence and fill the script with non-stop shouting. Just about everything in the film is pointless and it really wasted the talents of Jon Favreau, Cameron Diaz, Christian Slater, and everyone else who starred in it (and that includes porn star Kobe Tai).

This was Peter Berg's directorial debut, so it shows just how green he was as a filmmaker. At least he matured over the years, having made critically acclaimed films such as Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day. Still, he made duds such as Battleship, but they're way better than Very Bad Things.

"Peter Berg's Very Bad Things isn't a bad movie, just a reprehensible one. It presents as comedy things that are not amusing. If you think this movie is funny, that tells me things about you I don't want to know." - Roger Ebert

Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 44% - "Mean-spirited and empty."

The last college project I did before graduating was a psychoanalysis of Tron Legacy. I figured I knew what the big message of the movie was going into it- that as people, we are sometimes so consumed by our work or our online lives, that we tend to forget or abandon the people around us. In the movie, Flynn is literally consumed by his work.

But over the course of a analyzing the movie, I found messages about how religion & science can coexist, how there are two sets of characters in the real & computer world that represent the Id, Ego & Superego, how the locations are set up to mirror the old iceberg diagram of the psyche, how conformity & individuality are represented, and that the overall message was far more than what I had originally thought.

Back when it came out, I remember seeing a review or two that said it was all flash & no substance. And even before I did the digging, I always felt like there was something more there. I was just surprised how much.

Chappie, my husband suggested I should watch it, he heard it was good and had a robot. I just don't know what to say about that movie besides it was awful.

Solo. It's the only film I've ever thought that I've wasted my money going to see after I watched it

The absolute worst & most disappointing movie I've seen recently was Avengers Endgame. I loved Infinity War but I despise Endgame. Endgame was pure shit on pretty much every level. Thanks to Endgame I've lost all interest in any future MCU movies & no longer desire to go back & watch any of the old ones. It really was the ENDgame for me.

That mouse scene was the worst, most lazy, poorly written, Deus Ex Machina bullshit I have ever seen! What happens when there's a scene in a movie where you can't suspend your disbelief? No matter what, it's so stupid you will not buy it. No matter how much you want to like the movie you just can't. :peoples:

Depends on the criteria. Based on quality, probably Manos: The Hands of Fate. Even in Ed Wood movies, you can generally tell what is going on. In terms of movies I simply hated, maybe any and all Tyler Perry movies. I've never seen one all the way through, but I have seen enough to know that they are the antithesis of all that is good in this world.

    2 words: Nicolas. Cage.

Anything with that sack of crap is instantly bad.

As far as anything I've sat through? I didn't care for the 2004 "A Wrinkle in Time." I recently had to sit through it on the way back from a long bus excursion. Most torturous 3 hours I've ever spent. The hilarious CGI makes it somewhat entertaining but it's just bad, so so so bad.

Ironically, although they're not his best films, the only ones I like and tolerate him in are the National Treasure films. (Huge guilty pleasures of mine) I like "Reserved" Nicolas Cage rather than overacting Nicolas Cage. But I can understand why people would not be a fan of him in those films.

I love National Treasure. I’m a sucker for treasure hunting movies, and I liked how those were focused more on American history.

Nicolas Cage movies are usually pretty bad, but he’s usually too entertaining in them for me to call them the worst movies ever. The Wicker Man is an abysmal remake of a thought provoking horror movie. However, it’s a fantastic comedy. Bee beards, nightmares of trucks hitting people on a boat in the middle of a lake, and Nicolas Cage punching old ladies in a bear suit are things I can’t believe someone thought of.

Sudden Impact. Dirty Harry had fallen far by this point. I even rate the 5th almost parody film better than this (check out Jim Carey in his finest role). Seconds or Thirds on Highlander 2. I was told the plot in school and thought the guy had made up the entire thing as a fantasy school kid I saw this before you bull story. Things got better after that right no more squeals?

When I was in middle School, every Friday, teachers would put a movie for the class to watch. Guess what the girls wanted to see...

And there was this one asshole who kept suggesting we watch "Rudy" and every time the class said in unison: NO!

I wanted to post that Freddy got fingered as the worst movie ever but that's too obvious. Why did I think Tom Green was funny twenty years ago?
