What in your opinion was the worst adaptation ever of a live-action TV series?

For me it’s got to be WILD WILD WEST. Seeing Will Smith stuck to Kevin Kline’s groin, and later seeing him dance in a belly-dancer outfit with flamethrower boobs... yeah, you have to see it to believe it. It was so outrageously unrecognizable, I didn't even know it was adapted from a TV western till this month.

It’s only good for watching Kenneth Branagh – the guy brings relish to his racist villain role, who knew he would direct THOR later on?

Star Trek 2009 does not deserve to be on the 'worst' list of anything.
It was the best movie of 2009.

The only one of those I've seen is Star Trek, about which I completely agree with Smasher. It was amazing.

Wild Wild West is a pretty bad movie. I think it's easily the least watchable Will Smith movie. I don't like The Avengers (1998) because it's a bad movie and everytime time I see it on, I get my hopes up that it's the great Avengers from this year until I read the info.

The Paul McGann Doctor Who was a TV movie and a continuation of the British series, it was meant to be a pilot for a new ongoing TV series, not a movie. It aired once on fox against either the superbowl or the season finale of Rosanne(I forget which). So it was canceled before it could find an audience, it was never on the big screen and did not have a big screen budget, so it doesn't count. It could have been a good series, but it aired and was produced by fox and we all know what happens to most Fox sci fi shows.

Both the avengers and Dark shadows were pretty far from the original sources. The Tv series has far better acting and better plots on both series.

X-Files wasn't an adaptation of the TV series; IIRC, it's set in the same continuity and follows the events of the TV show.
