Since I answered "no", I think I'll respond with a favorite third party name: Carnifex. I named my Tyranny character in homage because I love the name and its meaning in Latin, "butcher, executioner." Very fitting for Overlord, and very fitting for a game where you play the villain.

It's also a Diablo boss reference as the Butcher is from the Overlord species of demon

Well as I said before I was fucking joking. Must be hard for you to not realize what a joke is. You trying to act intellectually superior is making you look like a fool. Humor you should try it sometimes.

I don't dislike Allen I just think it's incredibly derpy. I kinda admire UT for not trying to name him something pretentious or macho.

Sounds like a "you" problem then, not a name of a thing.

Oh OK, gotcha. So kind of a separate thing from the actual discussion. That wasn't clear at first.

    yeah sorry about that

no living thing that's considered "cute" should have a horrible name, but your right that's my opinion and i'll find something wrong with a cat named scrotum. i find some of the 3rd party names to be atrocious and unflattering but it's a toy no big deal, but if your human and your name is ugly betty, i'm prob gonna think your ugly

Not the worse, but the most uncreative gotta go with FP's individual Dinoking member. Literally Dino 1,2,3...

I'm setting the wayback machine for a pretty earlier period of the 3rd party but uh... M3. I mean. Once you "get it" it's... sort of clever I guess? But you take something as cool as this:
And then tell people that his name is one letter followed by one number? Anyway I think the name they wanted was Intimidator but I didn't see that with any of the printed material or the box. I still think of him as Intimidator.

But Fansproject kept going! Sigma L? Quadruple U? Seriously? And people think "Wolfwire" is bad? I like Wolfwire! Anyway...I think these are some excellent products but I am not married to their names. And I don't think they're really...wrong...but definitely chuckle-worthy.

    Heheh. Combes Robin.

So far, it seems like only a very small percentage of 'toy fans' are even bothered by 3rd party names. The vast majority do not let the silly little words impact them at all!

For once I'm glad to be part of the majority.

Well…..I was going to say TFC Uranos……but, after reading this thread…I googled it first and discovered it means Greek god of the sky.

So I learned something today about 3P names….My Carnfiex means executioner and he is now one notch cooler  .

Which is kinda funny because Latin is as relevant as ever, especially in the medical field.

    And..... we've come full circle.

I mean gee whiz, it's not knowing how to speak Latin, it's knowing the names of the gods and planets, and a common word like lupus, which is a root for wolf in a dozen languages, among them French and English! Every heard of the word lupine or loup garou?
